I am sure this has been answered for you but I do not see it here. The anime is based on both a manga and a light novel series. For context, they are adapting roughly 3 light novel volumes per anime season (24 episodes). The light novel currently has 21 volumes and it is not finished yet. So this anime, if it completes the story, should have at least 8 seasons with 24 episodes per season! lol and they love to release OVAs and movies between seasons, so there is way more Slime content to come. I have read all of the light novels that have been released so far and they are probably my favorite work of fiction. I think the anime is great, but it still does not do the light novels justice sometimes. And the light novel series is actually the best selling light novel of all time, so I would hope the anime will fully adapt the story. They at least have the budget to do so.
