If someone is said to be a spirit, it doesn't mean "basically a demon". They are completely different. I just wish slime did a better job of describing the differences for non-readers. Because it can get extremely complex with different races.

The thing I noticed, even though you said you'd gone back to see the Shizu episodes a second time, is that you don't seem to recall the sequence of events in her life well enough to use what you saw there to adjust your theory. There are definitely clues there you're missing. That said, you still won't have enough information to make a totally accurate theory. You can make a decent approximation, you won't be totally wrong or right.

So I will give you what I consider the bare minimum but there still will probably be mild spoilers. So Kuro means Black in Japanese. Ifrit is a spirit, not a demon. Spirits and demons and others are considered spiritual beings however. But good and evil aren't the main sides of conflict in Slime, and no particular race has a monopoly on good or evil. In demons, lesser demons evolve into greater demons who can become Archdemons, and more. They can be named or unnamed. By definition, Primordial (aka Progenitor) demons are the oldest, and age is a big indicator of strength. They are identified as a color. The color is not their name. It's obvious Orthos did not recognize Black, and Black mentions Othos is a dependent of Red. Demon society is very hierarchical, so that was a big mistake to not recognize Black. Demons can be summoned. In Episode 23, Rimuru summoned a Greater Demon to possess the golem he made for Ramiris. But it is dangerous to summon a demon that is too strong, it just might go out of control and destroy you and a lot more. Demons usually can't stick around for too long except under specific circumstances. Black had to go back where he came from, he could not stay in the "living world". One other Primordial was mentioned in this episode, White (Blanc).
