Mjurran thinks she knows what's going on, but she made an incorrect assumption. She also thinks Clayman will destroy the town if she doesn't go through with it. Note there are two barriers. Mjurran's is the Anti-Magic Area. It prevents new magic spells from being cast within the barrier. A Majin is basically an upper level monster. Monsters have a body that is much more spiritual than humans, that is, they are made up in some significant degree of magicules. The other barrier put up by the Church has a different effect. I will save Mjurran's backstory for later.
