And about the cut content, no pun intended but there is a book of cut content every episode... I daresay that, in terms actually content, not pages, there is more book NOT adapted then adapted. Yes, i believe more then 50% of every volume they "adapt" never goes to the screen and gets cut. Whole new characters, whole big lore chunks. That even from seaosn 1, but i guess before this season everybody was just too distracted by pretty lights and good production to complain about adaptation...I understand they have no time. But the mistake is to set season that gives them no time. its all in contract, i know. But deciding to make a season 24 episodes and not 30 or 36 is their own mistake, honestly. They are deliberately deciding to limit themselves to 24 episodes per season... and another thing is: If they cut opening and ending from every episodes they would have 4 episodes worth of time more at the end of the season. OP and ED takes 3 whole minutes of the episode.. after 10 episodes its 30 muintes, after 24 episodes its a whole movie-lenght episode... they dig their own graves. Studio Bind might not be the brightest but their higher ups/producers (kadowaka and whoever else) are just negligent with one of their biggest products. (their biggest LN)

2024-06-30 13:40:22 +0000 UTCI would recommend reading the Light Novel before the third season, obviously only volumes 1-12, which is what they will finish adapting in the next episode. It will help you remember everything you've missed or forgotten, as well as the omitted content, making your experience of the next season that much better. And then when you finish S3P1 (maybe?) read volumes 13-15 and so on with each part, at least that's what I do haha. But leaving it for the end wouldn't be bad either, that might still be several years away though.

2024-06-29 23:17:02 +0000 UTCSo finally finished the video. I think knowing all this can enhance the story. At least for me. Well when I like something, I go all in, full in down the rabbit hole. So even if you see the LN and anime as each their own things. I find it extremely interesting to be able to experience the story two times. And maybe I should internalize that thought more. Maybe I should hope for more changes because that would mean I would be able to experience a different take on the story that can go into to me unknown directions. Although so far it didn't change any bigger plot points.

2024-06-29 21:47:48 +0000 UTC17:15 Yeah I agree with that. They are different mediums and have different main audiences, so it can't ever be a 1:1 adaptation. That said, I sometimes have the impression that the anime is not getting the same meaning and emotions across. Which I think it should. How it does that is of course dependent on the unique characteristics of the anime format (more visual based, being able to use music and voice acting).

2024-06-29 21:22:23 +0000 UTCJust starting the video, but I think I should point this out again to ensure there are no misunderstandings, because I'm really not sure whether I did a good job with this in my DMs: If I'm not forgetting something, there are 3 changes in events (compared to the LN): 1. Roxy being the one pushing to sleep together. (btw I'm neutral on this). 2. Rudeus not telling Roxy that "fictional" story. (Don't like this). 3. Elinalise not pressuring Rudeus with that pregnancy lie. (Like this a lot). These 3 events are now canon like this in the anime. They are not skipped content. That they are different in the novel is interesting to know about but not further important for anime watchers. Then we have all the other dialogue changes or skipped scenes. With those, hearing the novel version is useful because the events they describe are still applicable in the anime canon. For example Roxy telling Rudeus that she had a discussion with Geese, Talhand, and Elinalise. Meaning that discussion in the bar still happened in the anime version. We just didn't see it directly. I'm really hoping I get this point correctly across...
