That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime 2x48 Reaction

Back to Episode 47. What happened with Veldora? Well, his showing up suddenly is a result of Rimuru's Ultimate Skill Veldora. One of the Subskills is Summon Storm Dragon. This is possible because of the Soul Corridor between Rimuru and Veldora. Veldora's memories are now being backed up in Rimuru's soul. The Soul Corridor can always be traced back to the physical location of the other, even through space, time, and other dimensions. The Summon Storm Dragon involves recreating a new dragon at another location, while he ceases to exist at the old location. Since Veldora is a completely spiritual being, when he died in the past (and he did several times) he would always return somewhere in the world, being a force or nature, with the drawback of always losing his memories. He would then reform a physical body over time using magicules. This new Skill of Rimuru's guarantees that Veldora won't lose his memories in the future, and the immortality he had before is now further perfected. Of course, it can just be used for teleportation purposes, and it seems Veldora can trigger it from his side as well. (There are other spiritual beings with different ways of handling things, so to speak, like Ramiris, or Diablo, or Treyni. As monsters evolve, they, too, become closer to being spiritual. Even humans have a pathway.)

It's not entirely clear to me what exactly happened with Clayman and his awakening. Clayman's awakening was not a full awakening to a True Demon Lord. He had not met the conditions. In the episode it said something about converting soul to energy, they rebuilding his body as a receptacle. Somehow this releases the souls, or maybe just frees them from their torment. But if Clayman is fleeing, he would be "separating from his astral body" in order to do so. Since the Soul is the innermost layer, that soul would be necessarily part of what flees. (In the Slime verse, there is the soul, surrounded by the astral body, which is surrounded by the spiritual body.) So how is his soul converted to energy? The other alternative would be converting all the souls of his victims to energy and using that, but how is that releasing the souls? In essence, human souls are the energy source for becoming a true demon lord, it is what Rimuru himself did, and even humans like Shogo, the guy who killed Kirara for her soul's energy, can get stronger by absorbing them. Anyway, Clayman's upgrade was not complete, but it didn't matter since he meant to abandon his physical and spiritual bodies anyway. This ability is because of him being a Deathman, a type of undead dark elf. ........................................................

Episode 47: ................................................................................... Even in another dimension there was a Soul Corridor between Rimuru and his people. Not as strong as the one with Veldora. Charydis v Benimaru: A number of Arts and Skills combined with the unique skill Born Leader enabled Benimaru to exert full control over Hellflare, overcoming Charybdis's Magic Interference. (This is some Ep. 45 commentary actually.) ......................................................................................................... Geld collected evidence from Clayman's castle (Shuna, etc. had called him over there.) into his stomach, and it was transferred to Rimuru's stomach. That's how Rimuru got the recording globes. They were Clayman's; he was recording through a few of his minions’ eyes. There was also a crystal that Benimaru recorded of the battle. Rimuru noticed something when he ran an analysis on Clayman. He wanted to find the right way to attack him. I think he realized about the suffering souls. .......... How to become a Demon Lord, in the official sense, that is, a member of this council, recognized by the others on it: (1) Be strong enough. It really doesn't matter if you're a demon lord seed, or a True Demon Lord, or just really strong. (2) Say publicly that you're a demon lord (3) Be recommended by two other members of the council, or fight a current member to take his seat. It really means killing him. There were times in history when there were many more demon lords, all jockeying for power or territory, fighting each other, but finally it became limited to ten. Raphael couldn't analyze Leon. It meant he had an Ultimate Skill of his own. What is an Ultimate Skill? There are several definitions and descriptions in the LN. One is, having ultimate control over natural laws. Another description is that it is several orders of magnitude more powerful than Unique Skills. It requires a combination of one’s attributes, luck, and many conditions. So rare that not even a True Demon Lord might have one. At this point Rimuru realized that at least Guy probably knew he had at least one Ultimate Skill, because he had dropped his guard and tried to probe him. To deal with it, he decided he would only reveal one in his battle with Clayman. Notice at the beginning that Guy asked formally if he intended to call himself a demon lord. In Ep. 48 Guy said Rimuru had the right to call himself a Demon Lord. .............. Guy said, “if Milim is aiding you of her own will,” and later to Ramiris, “Milim's allowed. She probably has something in mind.” Later we find out Milim has been unaffected all along. Guy knew it all along too. He also made a bit of a reference to this back in the Episode where he met with Leon. It all comes back to Ultimate Skills. Someone with an Ultimate Skill cannot be mind controlled by someone with no more than a Unique Skill. Nine-head is the last of the fingers. There's also Yamza, Mjurran, Adalmann, and Pirone, who was killed by Noir/black/Diablo when he deflected Razen 's Nuclear Cannon spell by blowing it into the sky. Pirone was up there. Finally we have Beretta. Rimuru summoned a Greater Demon and had it possess a golem he made to replace the mech that Rimuru destroyed in Ramiris’s labyrinth. Rimuru ordered her to serve Ramiris. She's no longer a Demon, but her lineage, through hints (a lineage with few members), was revealed to be of the Black Lineage. That's why Guy asks, oh, you speak to me so audaciously? Demons are strictly hierarchical and would risk death if you address a higher up without using the proper honorifics. She's saying, there's no way she can be useful to her creator, Rimuru, unless she takes this opportunity, because there is one much stronger than she is serving Rimuru. Guy, who is the Primordial Red, Rouge, realizes this is Noir (Black), and being also a demon, understands Beretta's argument, and allows her to go help Rimuru. In return she had to promise to give her full loyalty to Ramiris thereafter.

I really made it difficult on myself by not commenting on the last 3 episodes. I'm not going to say much about the Church now because there will be future opportunities soon. ................................................................................ Episode 46: When Rimuru entered the Walpurgis chamber, he saw that some of the Demon lords were doing as he normally did: hide their auras. He saw however, that some were doing something he hadn't seen before: showing their auras in such a way as to lead others into trying to assess them, which would reveal their own Skills. Just being lured into trying to assess someone would reveal your own Skills. Someone who was fooled completely by the misinformation was nothing to worry about. That Rimuru was not fooled meant he had an Ultimate Skill that could overcome a lesser Skill. Rimuru was caught off-guard by this strategy, so he wasn't careful. It was strategic to not reveal one's Skills unless one had to, because it was hard for an opponent to come up with a means of countering a Skill he didn't know about. They would also bluff or pretend to only be able to use it poorly. Rimuru concluded that unfortunately, Guy, at least, by this means, had figured out that Rimuru had at least one Ultimate Skill. He decided then to only reveal what was necessary, and that would have to include Beelzebub. ..... A little about Ramiris: She's been resurrected this time around for 500 years, but it will take her several centuries to fully mature. She retains her memories, but her spirit and body have degenerated. ......... Leon was formerly human. Leon was a little annoying, but he wasn't out to antagonize Rimuru, at least not here.
