Somehow I missed this when you posted it. Rimuru could be carrying all kinds of things around inside him, but I don't know why he would be prepared with a staff. Yuuki is an odd character. It's hard to get a read on him that's consistent. But it's early. Rimuru knew he was going on a journey and he probably alerted Souei ahead of time. He's already been doing some spying outside of Tempest. The honey Rimuru has is made by special bee monsters from treants' fruits, so no wonder it's special. Not much to say on the first episode.
