Concerning your point about Shippuden immediately following Naruto, it actually isn't true (kinda).
Maybe in the manga it immediately followed each other, and maybe "technically" Naruto continued into Shippuden straightly...
BUT in reality Naruto (canon) finished in July 2005, but Shippuden only started in Fabruary 2007, so a couple of years later!
If you look it up online it seems they continued, but in reality there were only fillers for a couple of years, which nobody watched, and then suddenly people got the news that it continued.
Aside from that there's also a timeskip of a couple of years before Shippuden so please don't think Shippuden is just a continuation of Naruto.
I'd describe it more like going from Dragonball to Dragonball Z, which was the inspiration for this series too btw:)
Enjoy!

Wasn't really his plan or on his mind all along. He genuinly became friends with Naruto and everyone else. He just kind of remembered everything after meeting Itachi again and seing naruto grow a lot making hih see himself as stil weak. So he recalled everything yogather with the thirst for powere and vengence willing to sacrificie everything for it.
An yes, he changed his mind at the end and let Naruto alive on porpuse

merry christmas! the statues one of them is the first hokage and the other one is not the second hokage its a character you dont know yet. Also I dont think sasuke ever planned on killing him up to this point he just fought him because he had to so he could go to Orochimaru, like if kimimaro stopped naruto he wouldnt of fought him. He just knocked him out so he could go.
