I guess you are far ahead for the higher tiers, but nonetheless - the story is based not on the christian bible, but rather the old Jewish Talmud where there was in fact a Goddess. And Amenadiel is loosing his powers - why, well he did just release an evil soul from hell to kill his brother, who then killed 4 innocent humans in the process. So is loosing his powers some kind of punishment for being rather non angelic?
