Definitely one of my most favourite episodes and so many questions answered. I realised watching this that Lucifer had visited earth many times so it became clear how he could have made all his money. Imagine investing money centuries ago- think of how it would have increased in value and also what a network of favours and interests and knowledge about humans he would have acquired! I expect he had money stashed in bank accounts for every time he visited earth plus all the gifts and treasures he would have been given by grateful clients that he granted favours for, I loved how he unknowingly 'helped' Chloe solve the case and dropped the suspect who confessed right in front of her. I thought it so good too how Lucifer sensed Chloe's presence without actually meeting her properly. It was fun to see how it all began and how Lucifer found LUX. I assume Rico's was closed down after the criminal activities and Lucifer, having tricked Amenadiel into a deal, decided this was going to be his new home- with a piano. He renamed it LUX... brilliant. The scene at the end on the beach was so powerful- great acting from Tom Ellis.

2025-07-31 20:19:54 +0000 UTCJust a quick note on the timing; As Danielle mentions, it was 5 years from this (2011 AD), the start of Lucifer’s “vacation”, and the start of the show (2016 AD). A couple of times during Chloe’s investigation of Lucifer in season 1 she mentions he “didn’t exist 5 years ago”, and the records for Lux only go back 5 years. Throughout history Lucifer visited Earth briefly before Amenadiel would show up to escort him back to Hell. Previously he would return with only a little grumbling, but after realizing that he himself is viewed as evil whether he obeys Father or not, his long term vacation in Los Angeles begins.
