I'm Dutch and to me the word dike makes all the sense in the world. Cause in Dutch it is called a dijk ;) They don't refer to ditches btw. It's really a man-made barrier to keep land from flooding from a river, lake, or from the sea.

I thought it was 3 different countries that I had to color in Geography class.. like Europe's version of New Hampshire and Vermont.

Richard Winters or "Dick" was the one who was promoted from being in charge of Easy to 2nd Battlion... you give up what you have when everyone else is suffering too because that's what brothers do. Hence, Band of Brothers. And yes if they had extra they would share as well. Civilians will never understand the bonds that are formed in war. I haven't seen my brothers in 18yrs but to this day they are still who I'm closest to and would do anything for them
