v0.3 first art update
Added 2024-07-07 01:19:33 +0000 UTCNow that I have in mind uploading them here, I've been trying to make more clean looking sketches.
And of course, here are my thoughts on everything and nothing at the same time.
Since you choose Viola as the first gym leader I've been thinking of how to build a team for her that isn't automatically destroyed by Fennekin(Braixen mere presence; and I think I have a decent enough strategy in mind, but I'm not sure if to give Viola a fully evolved team, or one with the mons in the stage they should have in the level they will have in the team (most probably 11 or 12).
Going in a completely different direction, I'm still not sure if to make an scene exclusive to Viola, or one with the two....
And talking about Alexa; at the moment of redrawing one of the characters to my own style there're some things I try to avoid changing, one of said thigs is the hair, I mostly only slightly modify the size of this and that, move a bang, or make a small change to the shape of a strand, small stuff; but Alexa's og hair is like too plain, like a perfect sphere on top of her head.
So I redraw it
Looking at her concept art I fell like the idea was to give her a slick back style, so I tried keeping the same hairstyle, but giving her hair more volume, so it doesn't feels like she's wearing a helmet or something, idk.
In other miscellaneous news, an ugly line of dead pixels appeared crossing just trough the middle line of my monitor just over a week ago, is a little annoying, but I can still use it perfectly, but right from where said line originates a burned dot appeared, again, the monitor is still 99% functional, but I wouldn't be surprised if one day it suddenly dies.
Last month money should be enough to get a cheap one if that happens, but I don't have same day delivery here, so if that happens that would means a few days of me not being able to work in the game.

And yeah, balance is always gonna be finicky, but I think you could justify her sending out a more powerful mon by her being surprised that we're already this strong when we take down her first two mons (since we all grinded out for the Sayoko fight) and then her sending out a more powerful boss mon because of that. Alternatively, you could have her team be the proper level range, but then have her pose the question, after the inevitable beat down, if we want to go one more round against one of her more powerful mons with a secret picture of her and her sister on the line (as a fun little lewd reward). Or maybe a mix of both of these things? Since the people voted for a bug type gym leader, I think we could all understand if it's not too hard, especially after Sayoko's wild ride.
