The Academy

This month’s patreon sponsored picture is about a location from « Tild, Mage for Hire » and should also be a key location of the milestone mini comics : The Ceryl Academy of Magic.
The Academy isn’t only a school for mages but is a great asset to the country of Ceryl at a political level. Ceryl is a little country. It does not have that much natural ressources, nor have great military power. Its location doesn’t allow it to be a powerful commercial country based on exchanges between kingdoms. However, since the country of Tharmine was sealed by a mysterious force field, Ceryl became the first country of the continent in terms of magecraft. And nobody wants to piss of a country full of imprevisible and dangerous mages!
This is where our tomboy heroine, Tild, spent most of her teen days and learnt how to use magic (but not how to use it properly, unfortunately). The academy itself consists of a principal building. You can see at each side of the entrance the dormitories (girls on the left wing, boys in the right wing), there is also obviously classrooms and laboratories, gardens that are used for beginners exercises, enchanted gates and walls to prevent any hostile intrusion and, floating around the walls, its main feature : the Crystal Realms. I will tell you more about those in due time, but for now, let’s just say they are advanced training grounds!
