She's a "jack of all trades, master of none" type and is very knowledgable about basic spells of almost any magic (to the exception of the void and dark magic families). As a natural consequence, she's taking care of the first year students and teach the basics.
She is a pretty feisty, relaxed and laid back person (she doesn't wear her robe formally all the time like other teachers). Fortunately, she usually doesn't have authority problems in her classes, since she knows how to be interesting and most of the student are really motivated to begin with. No doubt her supportive attitude helped Tild to go through her doubts!
As a side note, her surname, "Castelrue" (street castle) hints that she grew in the streets before being taken care of by Fargon Ormus, the Academy's headmaster.
