i already forgot i did this in the span of 12 hours π¬
a super quick sculpt i did this morning of a funky little dragon. i downloaded a recent build of the experimental sculpt dev branch of blender, and decided to play around with sculpt mode vertex colors for the occasion. i had fun messing with the wet paint mixing and blend modes, and i ended up finding a flow i really liked (although there were color choices i wish i had made differently and i didn't spend a whole lot of time rendering details in or cleaning up edges). i dunno if i'll work vertex coloring into my character workflow, but the fun of coloring a high poly sculpt without going through the steps required before traditional texturing kinda makes me want to!
