[Turning] Author's Q&A 2 (Part 3)
Added 2024-05-12 10:45:01 +0000 UTC[Turning] Author's Q&A 2 (Part 3)
Q. (Unaware) Does the human Yuder in Turning prefer juice over tea for his drink preferences? Are there carbonated drinks like cola or cider in the Turning world? If not, I'm curious about Yuder's reaction if he tasted cola or cider for the first time!
A. There doesn't seem to be a big difference between tea and juice for him. There are no carbonated drinks, but if he tried them, he would likely find the popping sensation in his mouth strange. But he would drink them well once he gets used to it.
Q. In a modern AU, if Kishiar and Yuder each made aglio e olio, would the amount of garlic be based on Korean standards or Italian standards?
A. Kishiar would follow Italian standards, while Yuder would just grab everything in his fist and roughly throw it in, so it would end up being Korean standards.
Q. One of the fun points of Turning is seeing Nathan occasionally suffer(?) between Kishiar and Yuder's flirting. Has Nathan ever felt disillusioned, even once, absolutely never, no matter what, whenever he gets caught between his superiors' romance(?)?
A. He has often felt vigilance and concern, but he has never been disillusioned yet. Sometimes, he rarely feels a bit sentimental about the fact that his lord is alive and healthy, showing emotions that seemed like he would never show.
Q. I'm curious about the overall geographical features of the Orr Empire. Do you have any plans to post images such as maps in the future?
A. I don't have a specific plan, but if the conditions allow, I will try in the future.
Q. Are there any small habits or quirks of Kishiar and Yuder that they are not aware of themselves but are noticed by others?
A. Kishiar knows that Yuder has a habit of sitting in a textbook-perfect posture when he sits in a chair, then releasing the strength in his back and raising his chin after a while. It's a habit he developed from being in the Commander's seat for a long time, where he needs to look dignified and relaxed.
Yuder knows that when Kishiar stops his paperwork and spins his pen, it's usually when there's nonsense written on it.
Q. This seems unlikely for both of them, but... I'm curious if Kishiar and Yuder have any sleeping habits.
A. As you expected, neither of them have any. They're boring people in this aspect.
Q. If Kishiar, who has a deep knowledge of fashion, puts all his aesthetic sense into dressing up Yuder, what style would he choose? Including clothes, shoes, hair, accessories, and everything else.
A. In Kishiar's judgment, Yuder suits a simple yet high-end style with a point rather than being deliberately flashy. He would likely style his hair neatly so as not to cover his features, choose clothes that are not flashy in color but have very good material, add just one accessory, and select shoes with a timeless design. On the outside, it might not seem like he did anything extraordinary, but somehow Yuder would look much better than usual and unapproachable.
Q. In Chapter 10, why did the divine sword emit a hostile energy towards Yuder? I have a hypothesis, but will the detailed reason be revealed in the future story?
A. I was going to give no comment as it could be related to spoilers, but I'm getting very curious about your hypothesis. If there's a chance someday(?), I'd like to hear it.
Q. I really like the conversation in Chapter 655 where Kishiar and Yuder organize how they address each other. I'm curious about Kishiar's reaction on the day Yuder calls him 'Kishiar'.
A. I was very touched to hear that you like that part. But as for the answer to the question... I will give no comment.
Q. I'm curious if there are any plans for official Turning goods or a collection book.
A. It would be difficult for me to release them on my own, but if it becomes possible, I think it would be really nice. Personally, I have thought about producing Cavalry buttons because I want them.
Q. I'm curious about the whereabouts of the libido-suppressing medicine Enon gave before!
A. I was surprised that you still remembered this. Those poor libido-suppressing medicines are still sleeping well somewhere among Yuder's belongings because he can't throw them away since Enon gave them, but he feels like Enon wouldn't like it if he returned them.
Q. Does the Cavalry pay a high salary? Does Yuder tend to carry a lot of money?
A. They pay a very high salary. In modern terms, it feels like receiving a mid-level salary at a large corporation from the start as a new employee. The employee benefits are also very good. It seems to include free brand-new dormitory for N years like a luxury hotel, real estate assistance and loan support when finding housing later, support for children's tuition, generous performance bonuses, generous allowances for business trips, and the highest level of medical support and special rooms in case of injury while working.
Q. If Nathan and Enon were animals, what animals would they be?
A. Nathan would be a large wolf or hunting dog, and Enon would be a gray cat with a fierce impression or an eagle.
Q. What would Yuder be doing in a modern AU?
I think Kishiar would be a young master from a wealthy family, but Yuder seems like he would have been doing sports. What sports would he have done? Would he have been good at a wide variety of sports?
A. I have answered a similar question before, saying he would be a politician/student or a farmer. If Yuder did sports, he would have done track and field just because he could do it with only his body without needing bothersome equipment, but later, it seems his outstanding talent in shooting would also be discovered.
Q. How good are Kishiar and Yuder at drawing?
A. Kishiar draws moderately well as needed, but he doesn't have a personal art style. Yuder once drew a rough map for the members when he was the Commander, but no one could properly recognize it.
Q. I saw in the previous checklist that Kishiar's handwriting is a perfect standard writing style. What about Yuder's handwriting?
A. It's a handwriting that gives a sense of maximizing time-saving and efficiency, different from the standard writing style. It's not messy, so it's easy to read.
For example, he doesn't separate the strokes when writing 'ㄹ' and always writes it quickly in one stroke.
Q. Did Yuder know how to read and write before joining the Cavalry in his previous life? Or did he learn after joining the Cavalry?
A. In his previous life, before joining the Cavalry, he could roughly read (to the extent unrelated to academics), but he was almost unable to write. Although he learned from his grandfather, it was largely because he had no occasion to write in his daily life. After joining the Cavalry, he properly learned how to write again and systematically learned how to distinguish writing styles and difficult words.
Q. Yuder may not have noticed that he likes sweet things, but at least he knows he's a big eater, right? ㅋㅋ ㅠㅠ
A. Yes. He knows that he has a body that can quickly digest even if he eats more than others.
Q. Yuder has a constitution where poison doesn't work but medicine does. If he takes a medicine that is very toxic and has side effects, how would the symptoms appear? Would only the beneficial effects of the medicine appear?
A. Yes. If the ingredients are all from nature, it's like that. Symptoms harmful to life do not appear.
Q. I want to see Kishiar and Yuder's story about the Wadoo-dae (can be changed to something else) and perilla leaf debate! The checklist is also very good! [TL: This is from here: Sesame Leaf Controversy - NamuWiki and Perilla controversy series! Couples' Controversial Topics Collection: Naver Blog]
A. Since it's a challenge of reactions after 'My boyfriend is gone, can I come over?', I'll answer assuming it's a modern AU.
1. In Kishiar's case: How could this be... To say such a thing as soon as I disappear... How... This is really shocking... <After writing this all over the place to perplex Yuder, he claims, "How can you only call me your boyfriend to others? Of course, you have to tell me too," making Yuder dumbfounded.
Yuder: Is that the problem?
Kishiar: Isn't it obvious? Then what's the problem?
Yuder: ......
Kishiar: Call me that too, hurry. Confidently. More.
2. In Yuder's case: He writes "?You sent it to the wrong person." and stays quiet for an hour, then asks.
Yuder: Were you calling me your boyfriend?
Yuder: It's not that I dislike it... It's the correct term, but it feels strange.
Yuder: But who were you calling?
Yuder: You say it was a joke?
Yuder: Was the term also a joke? (<The cold wind starts blowing from here)
Comments
I'd have to check, but we know for sure that a flame is part of the Cavalry symbol from Kishiar's discussion about magic stoves with Yuder. The flame is because Kishiar wants the Cavalry to be like the magic stove; something new that becomes commonplace.

2024-06-24 22:15:39 +0000 UTCI know there's a picture of the Cavalry emblem vaguely(on Yuder's glove) on the illustration where Yuder and Kishiar dance that the author(and you as translator) shared. It's a bit hard to see though.

2024-05-18 10:55:15 +0000 UTCOh another question would be what does the Cavalry symbol/button look like? The author mentions them above, has that already been mentioned or shared somewhere and I missed it?

2024-05-14 18:09:18 +0000 UTCA question I would like to ask is about Yuder and Kishiar's scents. The scents are talked about as if they can wrap around and caress each other. I often find myself imagining those scene in my head but I often wonder If the author had a visual representation what colors would Yuder and Kishiar's scents be as they wrap around and merge together. In my head it turns gold like the connections between them but I get a bit stuck wanting to have a color to represent their scents individually.

2024-05-14 18:04:28 +0000 UTCThe last Q&A 😭 not Kishiar digging his own grave ㅋㅋ My heart squealed at the thought of Kishiar trying to comfort a sulky Yuder afterwards 🥹🥹

I am laughing so hard I cannot breathe! 🤣 "Yuder once drew a rough map for the members when he was the Commander, but no one could properly recognize it." Well, I suppose noboby can be good at everything. 😆

2024-05-12 11:13:23 +0000 UTCBtw, thank you for sharing this on Sunday. It's evening on my side and the depression of "Monday will come in few hours" was sinking in 🥲

2024-05-12 11:12:15 +0000 UTC1. Oh boy. Nathan is such a good boy. Or maybe because he hasn't been in that position too long. 2. Just one single accessory for Yuder. see, for example, perhaps a wedding ring? 3. About the debate, I've heard about the kimchi debate thingy, but I don't get the correlation with the answer. But I enjoy the "what-if" situation. As always, Kishiar gets the most in this situation
