Turning Chapter 1114

Chapter 1114

Yuder momentarily forgot he needed to respond and blinked a few times. He was taken aback because he didn't expect Nathan Zuckerman of all people to express gratitude so honestly. However, the moment he faced that solemn face looking at him transparently without saying anything, his mind started working again and his confusion subsided.

"I'm glad if it was helpful. Although the Cavalry doesn't have long-term dispatched members yet, we discussed this aspect in various ways with the Commander while creating the branches this time. I just added a few words because I remembered it as a good method, even though we hadn't implemented it, so please don't think too much of it."

"I see."

Worried that he might be curious or suspicious about something more, Yuder had used Kishiar's name, but the knight's reaction ended there. It seemed he wasn't very curious about where Yuder's advice and knowledge came from, or it didn't matter much.

"Perhaps Captain Welliven might occasionally ask for discussions in the future. He seemed very pleased with this incident and repeatedly said he wanted to talk about the knight training menu as well. However, as he tends to get absorbed and talk endlessly when continuing a conversation, please cut it off at a level that doesn't burden you too much."

Although he spoke indifferently as if saying to cut it off if it's bothersome, what was contained within was clearly affection and concern for Welliven. Yuder nodded slowly and answered.

"I'm fine with conversations with Captain Welliven anytime. But I'll also... keep Sir Zuckerman's concern in mind."

Nathan Zuckerman's expressionless face finally softened slightly. The knight lowered his eyes and smiled gently, raising the corners of his lips. It was an unfamiliar expression that Yuder had never seen even in his previous life.

"Yes. Please call me anytime if you need my help as well, Sir Aile. I will always be near my lord and you."

Yuder didn't know how the story of him helping Welliven had spread within Peletta Castle, but afterward, people strangely started coming to him more often with work-related matters. The reason was that there was no one suitable to ask since Kishiar was absent, but most could be resolved without much difficulty using memories from his time as Cavalry Commander.

Finally, even Enk, the chief steward of Peletta Castle, came to visit. However, her visit was for a slightly different reason than the others.

"Baron Aile. Do you have a moment?"

"What is it?"

For a brief moment, Yuder wondered if there was urgent news for Kishiar, but Enk shook her head.

"I heard you've been busy helping many people inside and outside the castle lately."

"The word 'help' doesn't suit. I just added a few words to people I ran into while passing by."

"But as a steward, I feel quite ashamed. You originally came here to rest for your vacation, and yet... I wanted to apologize because it seems everyone has been bothering you without knowing the extent, due to my late realization."

He wanted to answer that there was no need for that, but that alone didn't seem enough to make someone like Enk raise her head again. Yuder thought for a moment before opening his mouth.

"As a member of the Cavalry protecting the empire, I naturally should help others. But stepping up for Peletta isn't just because of that. I want to do whatever I can for the person who allowed me to be here. I'd like you to think of it as just such a small desire."

Only then did Enk raise her head. An indescribable expression flashed across the face of the middle-aged woman with tough wrinkles from facing sea winds, and then a smile appeared.

"I see. I understand. Indeed... Mick, that fellow, said there was no need to go say such things, that I'd be embarrassed, and it seems this time his words weren't wrong."

"..."

Mick Shuden said such things?

He wondered what it meant that she'd be embarrassed, but Enk didn't explain that far. He could only guess from her bright expression that it wasn't a negative meaning.

"Still, I'm glad I came to see you. If it's alright with you, could we discuss a bit more about the results of the follow-up investigation on the impostors we caught this time? This is news that just came to Welliven, and from what I heard, it seems you might be interested as well..."

"I'm very interested. Let's go."

New follow-up investigation results on those impostor bastards who had pretended to be the Shuden Trading Company and were thoroughly fleeced by Kishiar. It was likely to be the results of searching Fay's hometown village. Of course, Yuder jumped up thinking he should see it right away, and Enk covered her mouth and grinned at him.

"Yes. I'm glad to have someone to look at it together."

It was a smile that ordinary people might find scary, but Yuder didn't mind. He went with Enk to her main workplace, the room with magic stone beads, and read the new information. According to the report, the southern merchant had particularly close contact with several young residents of southern descent within Fay's hometown village, and seemed to have enticed them by saying they could arrange good jobs outside or help with what they wanted. However, those who were enticed didn't know the true identity of those who had approached them intimately and kept trying to help them for no reason.

'They just thought it was because they felt a kinship due to their bloodline. They thought they were good friends. They thought they had fallen head over heels for them?... What, this fool. Anyway... Yes. I understand well that they only chose guys young and naive enough to be fooled by such attitudes.'

This means that the possibility that Fay also left the village and entered the Cavalry after being enticed and helped by those guys has become very high.

'And judging by the reactions of the others, it seems that the current Fay also doesn't know the true identity of those who helped him.'

Well, this speculation might not be true. However, that part was now Kanna's turn to resolve, not Yuder's.

After thinking that far, Yuder turned his head. While looking at the same report, Enk was muttering curses she couldn't say out loud while holding her forehead.

"These bastards who should be killed by putting ... in ice and pouring cold water. Acting like they'll give everything on the surface, but behind the scenes enticing kids to sell fake goods for ten times the price? And not content with that, trying to dig up information on the Duke of Peletta? These ... sons of bitches. I'll tear their ... horizontally and pour seawater..."

Although she mostly just moved her lips for the severe words, perhaps worried that Yuder might hear, it wasn't to the extent that he couldn't understand what she was saying.

It seems the proud steward of Peletta Castle was actually like this when she let her guard down. It must be because she was this kind of person that she could take responsibility for a town even when no one helped her in the rough sea winds.

Does Kishiar, whom all these people worry about with one heart, know their feelings?

'Well, he probably knows better than anyone.'

Isn't that why he's still continuing to work until Yuder stops him even now?

Being here makes one's heart feel at ease. It was amazing to feel such a strong sense of intimacy with people he had only met recently, just from being able to be certain that everyone had the same feelings as Yuder regarding one person, Kishiar La Orr.

Everyone wishes for Kishiar's health, comfort, and quick return.

'Today is... the 4th day?'

Yuder counted the time that had passed since he entered the bedroom. The month-long vacation that had seemed too long now had more days passed than remaining. Although he didn't regret at all not being able to go to his hometown, it seemed like it was time to start thinking about how to respond if Kishiar's heat exceeded the vacation period...

That's when it happened.

—...!

An enormous pressure that appeared silently suddenly pressed down on the entire castle at once.

It was a heavy, suffocating force that felt like a dense fog wrapping around everything. And with it came a powerful scent—intense and overpowering.

"Baron?"

As Yuder stood up abruptly, not caring about the chair tumbling over, with a feeling of all the hair on his body standing on end, Enk looked up with a puzzled face.

"The chair... What's the matter?"

"Can't you feel it?"

"Pardon? Feel what?"

Without answering, Yuder turned and dashed for the door.

"Baron?!"

"It seems to have started. I'll go up right away to check, so please prepare as well, Chief Steward."

Julushko

Omg Enk 😂😂😂 muttering various tortures about their privates, this woman is my spirit animal ❤️ Also, heck yeah, the rut/heat is a GO! Yuder: my body is ready 🥰

Liandrin Kamiya

The fact that he feels such feelings for the people of pelleta and they love him too, ugh love it. And nowwwwwww… it has begun

Jesse Gibson

Putting aside the rut for a moment, I just want to appreciate the fact that the key players of Peletta are accepting Yuder, not just as Kishiar's "guest", but as his equal partner. Not because they're instructed to, but because of Yuder's own actions and abilities, they're showing the same deference and TRUST that they place in Kishiar. For lack of a better term, they seem to already view him as the "Lady of the House".

It’s go time, everyone buckle up 😎
