Turning Chapter 1115

Before Enk could answer, Yuder had already left the room. The few remaining servants inside were startled to see Yuder and quickly made way or hurriedly moved aside.
Although it was just a brief passing, none of them seemed to have noticed anything strange, just like Enk.
'That means it's really just the scent without any other energy...'
As he leaped over the railing, Yuder thought about another kind of 'peace' within the quiet tranquility of the past four days.
During that time, Yuder had been constantly staying by Kishiar's side after finishing just an hour or two of work, checking his condition and attempting to look inside to induce his heat. However, contrary to his confident attempt, an unexpected problem newly emerged: Kishiar's energy no longer responded to his touch as before.
Clearly, when he had said he would try this method, Kishiar's energy had responded well to the power of the red stone wrapped around Yuder's hand. But as soon as he started to touch him in earnest to draw it out, it suddenly became as unmoving as stone.
Yuder thought this might be a response to the concern Kishiar himself was feeling. Even if his head didn't, his body was instinctively exerting its ability to suppress all energy as much as possible, fearing that its owner and Yuder might be in danger. Who would have thought that the characteristic of heat, where instinct increasingly takes over the body while the original control weakens in reverse, would hinder them in this way.
So on the second day, Yuder tried to release his scent first to soften the atmosphere and coax him, but that didn't work as well as he thought either. Kishiar, who had half lost his ability to control his scent, either released too much scent as soon as he felt Yuder's, or repeatedly blocked it tightly. In the end, Yuder had to postpone until the next day out of concern for him.
Kishiar apologized and was at a loss, but Yuder said it was fine.
'Even if the energy doesn't move, that could be another sign that you're getting closer to heat more quickly. I'm fine, so don't worry.'
Yesterday, he tried changing the method slightly, attempting to have Kishiar's ability draw in Yuder's scent first. This time, however, the ridiculous situation occurred where Yuder momentarily felt dizzy as he sensed all his scent being instantly pulled towards Kishiar.
He had heard that releasing scent too quickly and in large amounts could cause this, but experiencing it in reality was quite different from knowing it intellectually. Would it feel like this if someone suddenly grabbed your hair and tried to forcibly pull it out? His head felt fuzzy, and when he came to his senses, Kishiar's expression wasn't very good, realizing he had failed to control again.
'It's better to stop doing this side first. It seems difficult to try one side first, so it looks like doing both simultaneously is right after all.'
His words were correct. But to do both simultaneously, Kishiar's scent needed to be moved, and how could they soothe the one who was resisting, saying he was scared and didn't want to?
It was just a few hours ago that he had been earnestly pondering this while working.
But what had happened in the meantime?
He ran up the stairs where no one was passing, treading on the power of the wind. The higher he climbed, the stronger he felt the pressure of the scent pressing down on the entire castle. Even in a feeling like being submerged in the deep sea, Yuder didn't stop and kept moving, finally reaching the door of the Duke's bedroom. His fingers, which were about to grasp the door handle and open it, suddenly paused.
The image of the man who had come to find him hiding on the day of his manifestation suddenly flashed through Yuder's mind. What if Kishiar had shown an excited and flustered, hasty appearance in that situation? He didn't know for sure, but perhaps it would have been difficult to think of lowering his own defensive walls like he did then.
It was the same during heat. If there hadn't been someone who stayed with him until they reached the cabin, suppressing his body trying to react in front of a scent completely different in concentration and intent from before. If it hadn't been for his calm attitude and unchanging solid embrace, wouldn't he remember that situation quite differently from now?
Yuder bit his lip hard once, then straightened his posture. Ignoring his heart beating wildly instinctively in front of the enormous scent, he brushed off and tidied his clothes, then straightened his collar. He took a deep breath and knocked on the door.
"It's me."
Silence. There was no answer.
"I'm coming in."
Even with all the doors closed and secluded inside, the scent was this tremendous; what would happen when he went inside? Such concerns couldn't frighten Yuder Aile. He tried to open the door without hesitation.
—Clunk.
And he stopped, blocked by the latch that didn't move with a clunk.
It was the same even when he tried moving it again. The door was still stopped by the latch locked from the inside.
'...This is...'
Although Yuder Aile himself might have hesitated, Kishiar had never once prevented Yuder from coming to him. This situation was a first, and honestly, it felt very strange.
At that moment, a faint sound came from inside.
"Commander? ...Kishiar?"
He quickly corrected the title he had habitually uttered.
"...Yuder."
Only then did a faint voice leak out from inside. His heart, which had been beating as if it would burst, seemed to calm down a little at last.
"Yes. It's me. I came because I was worried when I suddenly felt your scent. Are you alright? The door is locked, may I come in?"
He deliberately didn't ask why it was locked.
Kishiar was silent again. Then, after a time that had scraped together all of Yuder Aile's patience, he returned a small, low whisper.
"...I had a dream."
"Pardon?"
It wasn't an answer to the question. Still, as he listened closely, words continued to follow.
"Different from before... whether it was really a dream... when I opened my eyes and couldn't see you, I... tried to find..."
"..."
So, he had fallen asleep for a while and had some kind of dream, but it was a terribly bad dream? He woke up from a nightmare and couldn't find Yuder, so he tried to look for him and ended up in this situation?
After roughly understanding, Yuder grasped the door handle again.
"Yes. It was all a dream, and I'm here now. I want to come in to see your face, will you unlock the latch? Or should I open it?"
Of course, the latter method would require being prepared for some damage.
He tried to speak calmly, imitating the Kishiar he remembered as much as possible, but he wasn't sure if it worked well.
"..."
"Kishiar."
"..."
"Akit."
With each repeated call of his name, Yuder's voice also grew a little lower. Even if he didn't want to, it was almost impossible to act as usual in front of the scent that seemed to press down and bind his entire body.
This was completely different from the restrained, clean, cool yet soft scent that usually enveloped Kishiar. It felt as if an invisible beautiful golden beast was baring its teeth and squeezing its entire body with all its might. Because of something seductive and sweet deeply dyed over the usual scent, both his sense of smell and touch seemed numbed, and it was difficult to stand firm due to the pressure that seemed to press down on his shoulders and head. However, the most difficult thing was that the inside of Yuder's body also seemed about to rampage in the same way in response to that wild animal-like scent.
The moment he lost control, it felt like all the suppressed things would break loose and collapse.
Had Kishiar been feeling something similar to this until now? How on earth had he endured this temptation?
If it were just pain, he could easily endure it. He was used to that.
But enduring this sensation that was trying to pull him in madly before his eyes, this sweet and seductive impulse... in some ways, it was more difficult than the vicious tortures he had experienced before dying.
As he inhaled the scent flowing through the door handle with a low pant, his head sank with a swoosh and his vision swayed dizzily.
'I want to tear that door apart right now... go in and kiss him.'
He wanted to run to the being waiting for him inside, swaying, and hug him so tightly his arms would hurt. He wanted to grab his flesh, stuff it in his mouth, and bite it. He wanted to swallow his tongue until he was out of breath, sucking it in while entangling his fingers full of shining hair. Because Yuder's body already knew very well what that sensation was. Because he had become overflowingly familiar with things that were sweet, felt good, and gave enormous satisfaction.
What's inside is his, something he could obtain immediately just by reaching out his hand. Why can't he go in? Why did he lock the latch? Why?

2024-11-08 16:28:57 +0000 UTCKishiar is so scared, it hurts my heart :( 💔 This is the first time in the novel he’s had to deal with a complete loss of control. He could keep his cool during Yuder’s manifestation, during his heat, etc because at the end of the day his own control was still in his hands. He was the one reassuring, the one guiding. This Kishiar has never had his vessel break, he’s maintained a balance. His memories of “loss of control” involve pain or death, like him accidentally breaking his horse’s leg. And then he got that memory of what happened with Yuder and other Kishiar in the past life. We’ve seen many hints of him being scared of losing control before. He’s probably terrified and feels like all his fears of what he might be capable of doing to someone he loves are true. Yuder trusts Kishiar more than Kishiar trusts himself right now :(
