Turning Chapter 1141

Chapter 1141

The wind was infinitely gentle, but in fact, it was faster and stronger than anything else. The power of wind compressed to its limit and then released was strong enough to make a single person fly through the sky, and just its rapid whirling alone could become a disaster of enormous scale.

And the wind that Yuder had compressed and shot now was more powerful than any wind he had used since coming back in time.

The entire eastern tower shook along with the surrounding air, accompanied by an incredible explosion that was unbelievable to be the sound of invisible wind. People below the tower lost their balance and fell just from the aftershock, and tree branches that had been standing firm broke and snapped.

In the midst of this, only Yuder Aile maintained his position without wavering. He stared at the target his arrow and wind were heading towards without blinking an eye.

The monster with spread wings tried to change direction to avoid as soon as it sensed something being shot by a human. However, the speed of the arrow riding the wind was much faster than the monster's movement.

In the blink of an eye, the fierce wind engulfed the monster. People crouched and protected their heads to avoid the aftershock.

Unlike their imagination, Yuder's wind dispersed powerlessly as soon as it touched the monster, but not the arrow.

All that was needed was the very brief moment when the monster hesitated after being hit by the wind.

Not missing that brief moment, the thin arrow unhesitatingly pierced through a single point between the wings. The arrow, embedded more than halfway through what seemed to be barely a palm-sized gap, sprayed black liquid as it pierced through the monster's back and emerged.

With an ear-splitting scream, the monster heavily lurched to the right.

"---!"

'Hit it.'

"Woaaah!"

Cheers erupted from below the tower upon confirming that sight.

However, Yuder didn't relax his grip on the bow. Although the monster was swaying heavily, it hadn't really fallen yet.

'One shot isn't enough.'

As he thought, the monster, which had started flapping its wings even larger and faster as if struggling desperately, managed to climb back up to a high position with difficulty. Yuder slightly furrowed his brow watching this.

'Perhaps the complete penetration was actually worse.'

As if suggesting it could endure a single small clean hole, the monster was somehow continuing to fly. Seeing the amount of falling blood gradually decrease, its regeneration speed seemed tremendous.

Without delay, Yuder reached for the quiver stuck at his feet. Only two arrows remained there now. The arrow quickly nocked to the bowstring was instantly drawn back fully and then shot without hesitation in exactly the same way as before.

With the sound of wind exploding, the second arrow this time pierced the vital point inside the opposite wing of the monster. Thanks to hitting much shallower than before, the arrow remained stuck in the body without penetrating through.

With a scream that seemed to shake the entire castle, the monster spun around and then dropped. The monster disappeared from Yuder's view.

Yuder waited while holding his bow, then leaned his body slightly over the parapet.

At that moment, as if it had been waiting, the monster soared up again, spraying blood.

"Kiii---!"

Yuder straightened his posture again in the midst of the ear-piercing high pitch.

The monster was struggling desperately to fly higher while swaying back and forth. The arrow shaft stuck in its body appeared to have broken, unable to withstand the powerful wing beats. Although the arrowhead would still be embedded in its body, the monster flew towards the eastern tower with gleaming eyes as if determined to take its attacker along as a companion.

A critical situation. Everyone shouted something.

"Yuder!"

"Baron Aile~!"

Nevertheless, Yuder remained standing at the edge of the parapet without retreating or showing any other movement.

"Quite tenacious."

After letting out a small breath, Yuder nocked the last arrow to the bowstring and drew it back.

And looking straight at the monster that was bearing its blood-covered claws towards him, he released his fingers.

With movement not even slightly different from when he first shot the bow.

So lightly.

The last arrow, without even wind, was mercilessly sucked into the monster's wide-open throat that had reached within arm's reach of Yuder.

Or rather, that's how it appeared.

"..."

A moment later. People saw the monster's scream, which had been ringing so loudly it could have burst eardrums and made ears bleed, suddenly stop as if forcibly muffled by something.

In the silence, the monster's head slowly bent backward. The huge claws that had been extended as if to tear apart the human at the parapet's edge sliced through the air slowly and futilely.

The wings that had been flapping desperately stiffened.

Black blood poured out as if the wounds that had been advancing with terrifying regenerative power had burst all at once,

And the monster fell, tumbling and hitting various parts of the tower like a log.

Even after the monster's feathers and blood scattered messily around as it crashed to the ground with a bang, people couldn't dare move for a long time.

What broke the silence were the shouts of the Northern Branch members.

"It's over! It's over!"

"The Cavalry spirit has done it again!"

Welliven, who had been standing with his sword drawn, looked alternately at the monster corpse in front of him and the man standing atop the eastern tower as if entranced. Yuder Aile, wearing his hooded cloak, finally lowered his bow and calmly disappeared inside the parapet. The Cavalry members shouted excitedly and hugged each other, then approached Welliven and chattered about something.

Only after a long while did he realize that those words were proud voices asking 'Did you see our Cavalry spirit well?' Only then did his heart, which had seemed to stop in surprise, start beating again as feelings of wonder and amazement mixed together simultaneously.

The precious guest their lord had first brought.

He felt foolish for having momentarily thought that the Yuder Aile he actually saw was different from the rumors, seeming like a quiet and elegant young man more familiar with practical work than fighting.

He had thought he knew well how the famous hero of the West and South had achieved what feats and fought, having heard about it to the point of tedium, but he was wrong.

That composed appearance that seemed to know no fear was neither a young person's recklessness nor a powerful person's arrogance. Even the incredible ability that was unbelievable for a human to use was just part of Yuder's weapons. The real Yuder Aile reflected in Welliven's eyes was someone more familiar with 'combat' than anyone else present here.

From terrain, people, weapons, to abilities.

Only someone who accurately recognized all those things given to them and used them like pieces on a board in the right place at the right time could fight like that.

It was a sense of wonder that he could feel because he was an old warrior who had led a knightly order for a long time.

'How can someone that age fight like that.'

He turned to the members who were still chattering energetically and asked.

"...Does the guest. No, does Baron Aile. Always fight like that?"

"Like that... you mean?"

"Without any hesitation like that... fighting as if everything had already been planned out, I mean. And doing it alone..."

Although it became a strange question because it was difficult to know how to express it due to his clumsy wording, the members seemed to understand what Welliven wanted to say and laughed.

"That's right. He's always like that!"

"Yuder is really strong, and you never know what he's going to do, but he always wins."

"Did you see the shining arrows earlier? That was something we tried because Yuder suggested combining our abilities! It's going to be our branch's special weapon from now on!"

Welliven looked up once more at the top of the tower where Yuder had disappeared while listening to their voices.

'Amazing. And... indeed similar.'

In fact, he had never directly seen Lord Kishiar fight until now. However, because he had lived for a long time directly learning and teaching the numerous tactics that his lord had created while lying in bed, he knew well what kind of fighter he was.

From what he felt, the way Yuder protected this castle and moved people was very similar to Kishiar.

'Though I don't know if such things can be learned by learning.'

Of course, that wasn't all that Yuder had shown. At least if it had been Kishiar, he certainly wouldn't have ordered anyone to fearlessly stick three arrows into a monster at the end.

But Yuder Aile did just that. In front of everyone's eyes, all the people of Peletta were deeply shocked beyond words by the brilliance of his wondrous and overwhelming victory.

Welliven quietly bowed his head towards the top floor of Peletta's inner castle where Yuder had headed. When he raised his head again, he was smiling more comfortably and happily.

"Sir Welliven! The injured from Jilbang have arrived at the castle! Fortunately, there are no critically injured people who can't regain consciousness, so they've started treatment right away!"

"Is that so? After treatment, assess their condition and report immediately. And while cleaning up that monster over there, don't forget to properly collect by-products and samples...!"

Beyond Peletta Castle, which had started bustling again. Nathan Zuckerman and five knights were returning with light steps, covered in dust.

And Yuder, who had crossed the bridge returning to the inner castle,

"..."

"...When did you wake up and come out here?"

realized that his goal of trying to quickly finish everything without waking his loved one's sleep had long since failed.

You saying that Yuder's only looking after what Kishiar left for him hits so hard 😭😭

riin

Yuder you will one day be the cool lover who says 'sleep more, I've taken care of everything.' to kishiar as he rests XD but that day is not today

My understanding is that the similarities between Yuder and Kishiar are because originally it was Kishiar who taught Yuder basically everything that was to do with life outside the mountains, yes. But then after Kishiar's death Yuder basically also spent his whole 1st life following in Kishiar's footsteps, continuing and protecting his legacy. Yuder's world view and way of doing things is sort of like his dancing. (Kishiar once mentioned it can be very clearly told who one learns dancing from, because there are no two people dancing even the same dance the exact same way, so how you are taught is the basis and most defining part of how you will be doing it too.) Or another good similie for how he approached and handled certain matters in the 1st life is how he was treating the Commander's office. (Which is to say not touching anything like it was still Kishiar's, and he was just taking care of the stuff for him.) Between Kishiar being the bedrock of everything he knows, and spending over a decade essentially like he was following Kishiar's orders, it is no wonder the two are similar. But as Helem once pointed out: the similarities are only on the surface level. If you look closer, while Yuder's way of doing stuff does resemble Kishiar's, he also puts his own spin on them. 😁

Welliven finally gets how amazing Yuder is! Doubly so since he doesn't even know Yuder isn't immune to anything monster related - welcome to the fanclub! Aww Kishiar had a front row seat once again to see his beloved's awesomeness and fearlessness at work. ☺️💕

moomin woo

Welliven's observation is spot on. I think Yuder is so similar to Kishiar bc of his experience in his first life and the things Kishiar taught him in the two years Yuder was with him.
