"Yeah. See you later then."
"Yes. I'll contact you."
Shin Lu turned to look at Tae-ui and smiled brightly. Though slightly stiff, it was still a lovely smile. Though his heart wasn't entirely at ease thinking Ilay was watching this smile from over there, Tae-ui leaned against the wall watching them as if observing a show. An amused light lingered in those eyes.
After saying goodbye to Tae-ui, Shin Lu turned and walked toward his room. Ilay stood in his path. His steps grew stiffer as he got closer to him. Like a young animal bristling with fear before a predator.
One step, then another. The distance between Shin Lu and Ilay gradually decreased. Ilay watched him with a smile while leaning against the door with arms crossed. At some moment, suddenly Tae-ui's heart grew hot.
"Shin--"
Just as Tae-ui opened his mouth.
Shin Lu, who was a couple steps from Ilay, turned to look at Tae-ui hearing that call. Simultaneously, Ilay straightened and reached out his arm to snatch Shin Lu's waist.
Grabbing and pulling Shin Lu's waist without giving him time to dodge, Ilay pushed him against the wall and pressed close against him. Ilay's long fingers gripped Shin Lu's chin and lifted it. Then he bit into his lips as if to devour them. Ilay's thick tongue invaded Shin Lu's parted mouth. Shin Lu's eyes grew wide.
"Ilay! Stop it!"
Tae-ui shouted in sudden anger. And rushed toward them.
Even during this, as if not hearing Tae-ui's words, Ilay lowered one hand and unhesitatingly grabbed Shin Lu's crotch. A short moan escaped Shin Lu's mouth. Ilay's large hand gripped Shin Lu's crotch and rubbed and kneaded it slowly and forcefully. The hand delving between his legs traced a sticky path from buttocks to groin. That hand overlaying Shin Lu's genitals through a layer of clothing held an incomparably lewd and dark light.
"Ilay!!"
Tae-ui grabbed his shoulder and yanked hard. As if planning it from the start, Ilay separated easily, and Tae-ui gripped his collar and slammed him against the wall.
"Stop it! Don't touch him!!"
Tae-ui cried out with blazing eyes. His mind felt scorched black. The moment Ilay grabbed Shin Lu and bit his lips with his own, the moment he thrust his hand between Shin Lu's legs, his breath stopped.
Though Ilay looked down at Tae-ui as if amused, he soon shifted his gaze to Shin Lu. At that attitude as if saying he didn't care about the likes of him, Tae-ui grew angry and tightened his grip on his collar.
"Ilay...!!"
"Brother...! I'm fine. Please stop."
But the one who stopped Tae-ui was Shin Lu, who stood beside them clutching his collar in apparent distress.
Tae-ui looked at Shin Lu while still gripping Ilay's collar. With confusion clearly remaining on his face, Shin Lu looked back and forth between Ilay and Tae-ui with unstable eyes. His voice repeatedly whispering "Brother, please stop, don't fight" sounded very anxious and uneasy.
Hearing that voice made his heart ache again, and after glaring at Ilay briefly, Tae-ui slowly released his hands. Ilay smiled slightly while adjusting his collar.
"Quite excellent. More delicious than he looks... hmm?"
"...!!"
At Ilay's low murmured words mixed with laughter, Tae-ui felt anger surge again. However, as he clenched his fists, Shin Lu grabbed him from the side. Though Tae-ui looked at Shin Lu with displeasure, his face white with anger, Shin Lu shook his head with a face so anxious it seemed about to burst.
Tae-ui stepped back one step from Ilay while barely steadying his rough breathing. Then he spoke to Shin Lu in a low voice.
"Go inside. ...It's fine. Go on."
Shin Lu still anxiously examined Tae-ui. Then he looked at Ilay--which was Tae-ui's only faint relief--with distinctly unfriendly eyes. Not wanting to keep Shin Lu there, in range of Ilay's gaze, Tae-ui urged him again to go, and Shin Lu seemed to understand his meaning and nodded. Then he slowly moved his feet.
Until Shin Lu entered his room and closed the door, looking back several times, Tae-ui didn't move. Just as Ilay standing right beside him didn't move.
Even after Shin Lu disappeared from view, Tae-ui kept staring that way as if chasing his afterimage, then slowly turned his gaze to Ilay. With arms crossed, Ilay was staring at the opposite wall as if lost in thought. Then feeling Tae-ui's gaze, he lowered just his pupils to meet his eyes.
Tae-ui finally slowly unclenched the fist he had been gripping tightly, with a sigh, letting the anger that had flared up intensely in that moment leak out bit by bit. He was originally someone who rarely got intensely angry, and couldn't maintain such emotions for long.
Finding himself somewhat pathetic, Tae-ui stepped back one step. He asked unpleasantly and gloomily:
"What are you planning? ...Do you want that young man?"
At that, an interested light briefly clouded Ilay's pupils. That interest resembled desire.
"He's not yours yet, is he?"
"You think so? I think Shin Lu likes me too."
When Tae-ui spoke, Ilay laughed softly. A laugh as if somewhat deflated.
"Look, Tae-ui. You're misunderstanding again. I'm not talking about emotions like liking someone. You can have all of that. I don't want it. What I want is brief, intense pleasure."
"---So."
Anxiety and impatience, and displeasure surpassing those, spread thickly in his chest.
Tae-ui looked straight at Ilay. He met Tae-ui's gaze with those cold, deep black eyes whose thoughts were unknowable.
He was a man who obtained whatever he wanted by any means. Giving up or abandoning what he wanted was too ill-fitting for this man. That's why Tae-ui couldn't back down further. If he tried to tear and cut away Shin Lu, the things Tae-ui cherished, he couldn't just watch. Somehow. Even if his own strength was woefully inadequate.
Suddenly Ilay laughed like a sigh. The way he shook his head was as if surrendering.
"Fine, alright. I don't feel like fighting with you right now anyway. Even if we end up fighting, now isn't the time. So I'll make one concession. You step back too."
Tae-ui slightly furrowed his brow at Ilay's low and subtle words. He couldn't guess what this man who openly showed his desire for Shin Lu would say.
He looked at Ilay then quietly clicked his tongue.
Damn it. He felt he now understood his uncle's words perfectly. Whether good or bad didn't matter, just absolutely avoiding attention and not getting involved was best.
Tae-ui spoke bitterly:
"Let's hear it then, this concession. Though I doubt I'll have much choice."
At Tae-ui's words mixed with sulky dissatisfaction, Ilay laughed. Then spoke as if making a great concession:
"That person is someone you care about, right? I find him quite appetizing and stirring below too. Though getting what I want is my iron rule, as I said, I don't want to fight you right now. So---don't interfere however I treat him. In exchange, I won't use force to pin him down."
"What?"
"Don't understand? Since he's not fully yours yet anyway, I'm saying don't concern yourself at all whether I approach him, seduce him, or draw him to bed. In exchange, I won't use threats or other forceful means."
Tae-ui stared blankly at Ilay for a moment, lost for words. It felt like being lightly hit on the back of the head.
"No... that's..."
"If you're not even properly dating, you have no right to say anything to me anyway."
Tae-ui closed his mouth.
His words were right. Actually, Tae-ui couldn't define what kind of relationship he had with Shin Lu. If he had to say, perhaps he was trying to court him and Shin Lu was receiving those efforts well. He wasn't in a position to demand others stay away from Shin Lu.
However, unable to readily answer "Then do as you please" either, Tae-ui stood speechless as Ilay turned away as if having said all he needed to say.
"Ilay!"
Tae-ui called out half-reflexively to him as he was about to turn away. Ilay slightly raised his eyebrows and just turned his head to look back. Tae-ui glared at him briefly with a heavy heart then spoke gloomily:
"If you use forceful methods... I absolutely won't stay quiet."
At that Ilay laughed pleasantly. Leaving only a brief "Of course" that could be interpreted either way, he moved his feet.
Tae-ui stood there blankly until he turned the corner and disappeared from view, then as soon as he vanished, slid down against the wall. Suddenly it felt like decades of fatigue were pouring down.
Things had twisted to the worst. Though he couldn't have refused his proposal anyway--there was no guarantee he wouldn't come at him completely recklessly if he stubbornly refused till the end--and had no grounds for refusal, he had never wanted this situation.
"Won't stay quiet... Someone without the power to back it up shouldn't say such things to be effective."
Tae-ui muttered self-deprecating words to himself while groaning.
Since coming here, not only had his life turned unlucky, it seemed he was doing all sorts of foolish things by himself.
