2024-07-25 16:05:07 +0000 UTCIt's not uncommon for spy organizations to independently operate in cells. That way, if one cell ever gets busted, the enemy doesn't know everything that you know. And for a low-priority nobody like Anghie, I'd be shocked if they do share that info to all the cells.

2024-07-19 08:06:17 +0000 UTCI mean, if a mission's success ever came to how Tristan fought in an open battle, then something went terribly wrong lol. I'd settle for "barely competent"

2024-07-19 08:02:18 +0000 UTCIt's a foil to Angharad. The lady is in a position of power but still being used on all sides. Angharad is in a position of weakness but is gaining control over her destiny. Theofania's entire purpose is to give Angharad the opportunity for growth and show how far she has grown.

2024-07-18 11:42:05 +0000 UTCAngharad... deliberately humiliating herself... for a sneaky plot... in a convincing way? Incredible character growth. She should scare the hell out of the other Watch Officers if they ever realize. Now Tristan just needs to become good at combat and they're unstoppable.

2024-07-18 07:38:27 +0000 UTCInformation is a lot harder to pass around when you don't have modern technology. Also it makes sense that two groups from the lefthand house would be unaware of eachother. That way they can't rat eachother out.

2024-07-13 14:34:48 +0000 UTCI love seeing the character growth

2024-07-13 06:17:16 +0000 UTCAnd Angharad by far had the best weekend but I have a feeling she’ll be chewing on her wounded pride the whole way home. Thank you for the fun chapter!!

2024-07-13 04:24:16 +0000 UTCI’m surprised her house doesn’t know she doesn’t have a chance. Unless they’re playing a different game or have a way to force his hand. Lol I love how reading this makes me think in all intrigue and politiq

2024-07-13 02:04:22 +0000 UTC> “A grim patron,” Angharad noted. Huh, who knew Angharad played Hearthstone?

2024-07-12 19:22:38 +0000 UTCDamn… Angie is hardy carrying this whole investigation thing. And here I though she would pull the others down being preoccupied with the forge and what not, but between Tristan’s kidnappings, song’s crush and Maryam’s clone, Angie is the one with the eye on the prize!

2024-07-12 18:57:13 +0000 UTCIt's interesting how much Lady Theofania is being used. Her big house supporters are using her to keep suitors away. Angie realized she could use the provocation to get her real goal for the price of a little humiliation. I'd almost feel bad for her, if she wasn't so horrible. I guess nobody feels like warning her what's going on, because they just don't like her. Also, you go Angharad. Priorities properly reshuffled.

2024-07-12 16:08:22 +0000 UTCGood for Angie. Nice to see some plot movement too! Angie got some meaningful character growth also. She'll be a watch woman yet

2024-07-12 15:46:37 +0000 UTCBut he didn't denied the success of the plan, only the wisdom of it. Angrahad infiltrating the cult is a question of duty, not wisdom.
Guilherme Silva
2024-07-12 15:21:46 +0000 UTCThere is a good chance that the regent don't have direct relations with the cult. The cult is part of the coup, but the coup is almost surely greater than the cult, and the cilt intends to use the regent as a figurehead from what I understand.
Guilherme Silva
2024-07-12 15:14:27 +0000 UTCTheir spies don't see her as a enemy and already have someone in her, they simply don't talk so much with each other. Wanting to destroy a item that breaks your most important monopoly is not "petty nationalism" is basically their reason of existence.

2024-07-12 15:10:58 +0000 UTCThe blade of Constantinople is twice as deadly for one walks into the room willingly self assured that they know the name and game of Byzantine play. Well done Angharad now you just need to meet back up with the cabal and everyone can put the pieces together. Though the old saying about ruling does track I’m a juggler I never let my left hand know what my right is doing. It all feels too easy after seeing the stakes & knowing the power behind the scenes. Angahrad’s maiming felt convenient because it is but now it feels much more contrived. She’s done well so far having such a core aspect of her identity taken from her in a way it could open up doors that she would never think or need to look through before. Yet it’s still a stinging loss and with everything else she’s lost on top of being placed in a pressure cooker … The idea she’s being used and set up to be sacrificed as a scapegoat before she grows into a position of power feels less and less like speculation.

2024-07-12 13:43:21 +0000 UTCWe will know when Ang reaches her full potential when she takes another page from Wen’s playbook and infuriates the hell out of people when she wants to. As a member of the Black I’m sure she can get away with being rude in polite society, especially when her rep is awash anyway. Tristan would’ve been able to win this game of insults as well, Ang’s skin is still too thin methinks. I can picture either flinging their food in their faces “accidentally” after the first insult was thrown and then apologizing to the host Cleon for feeding dogs. No need to draw a sword when you can get away being more depraved in these situations
Matthew Flowers
2024-07-12 12:41:44 +0000 UTCMalan is looking supremely incompetent, huh? Their spies having no idea who Angharad is, not having realized that their little plot has been discovered and is currently being run down, and trying to ruin for petty nationalism a treasure of the ancients? What are they even doing?
Jacob Burton-Edwards
2024-07-12 11:57:20 +0000 UTCOur Skirtai first bags the hot milf and then nails the big reveal everyone's been working towards. Without drawing her sword. These Angharad chapters are becoming my favorite.

2024-07-12 11:11:03 +0000 UTCReally? From the same author who wrote Akua Sahelian? I am surprised you're surprised.

2024-07-12 11:08:10 +0000 UTCWe need some in universe info dump explaining what exactly defines a cult vs a legit religious organisation. The ambassador seems to suggest after the coup they can come out of the shadows a bit - is it just a matter of official sanction by rulers plus compliance with Iscariot, or are there more nuances to it?

2024-07-12 11:00:19 +0000 UTCSo, plots are becoming known. We now have Malan and Tianxia's plots, with the possibility of the hardcore Yellow Earth trying an uprising of Merchants. I suspect that there are at least three more. Cleon is probably the bastard child of the last king, what with the secret love letter and temple to bastards on his land. Menander Drakos may know this and be searching for evidence among the letters. I suspect that the God is playing a "heads I win, tales you lose" game. As a tricky Odysseus type, it could be the patron of Cleon, and the golden ram, and trying to use the Yellow Earth to break out. This would explain why Cleon felt it waning; it's feeding on several aether taints, and giving away enormous chunks of itself. The last plan that matters is Evander Palliades.'.

2024-07-12 06:34:41 +0000 UTCWow. Kinda wanted her to kill those assholes but so proud of her that she used them instead. Tristan was right - once Angharad learns these new tricks she's going to be an absolute menace.

2024-07-12 04:52:55 +0000 UTCHow delicious. The left hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing. So the cult is planning a coup, while putting the person who the rector is sure has nothing to do with the cult in charge. I always thought his answer was a bit sus about how she has nothing to do with it because she's 'so good'. I was wondering what the hell is going on with the cult, and suspected that the Rector was planning to purge his own supporters with the cult connection, after using them against his more mundane enemies. But I don't think that fits with what was revealed now. I still think the rector knows more then he's letting on and has a very very clever plan to deal with all of his current enemies and secure his power. Shame that it involves the 13th, notable chaos bringers, I'm sure it would have been very impressive. Angharad seems to think she should enjoy these noble get togethers, but every time she goes to one someone asks to get stabbed and she's constantly plotting. It's like she doesn't know what to do if she's not putting some plan into motion, if it's getting Zeze accepted into the Good Society that he walked away from, or hooking up this boy with an acceptable wife.
