This is my favorite chapter. I cannot stop cackling at Song upending the delve in such a spectacular and violent fashion. The best.

2026-03-06 23:11:00 +0000 UTCMy theory is that it has been stated before that Tristan is capable of hosting a god within him and act like a shrine. Lucifer told Tristan how to become Scholomance's shrine as the final desperate attempt to free Fortuna, which is the secret that is being withheld.

2026-02-28 21:33:40 +0000 UTCArguably the Delve and the Hunt are similar previews for different parts of the job. Not common parts, in this day and age when most of those 'big things' have been either defeated or contained, but an ambitious Blackcloak looking to impress may see the remainder as an opportunity.

2026-02-28 20:31:55 +0000 UTCI think the great thing about how you write Tupoc is yeah, he's an utterly remorseless bastard, but he's just so damn likeable too. Also hell yeah, putting Cao in her place. You love to see it, you really do. Also also, I'm thinking Lucifer did something to link Tristan with Scholomance- something that absolutely won't be a chekov's gun, no sirree.

2026-02-28 14:48:50 +0000 UTCCao should have stopped while she was just behind. But no, had to try her luck with Tupoc as well.

2026-02-28 14:43:35 +0000 UTCI have never resented a Tristan POV until this chapter with this class.

2026-02-28 12:18:58 +0000 UTCI always enjoy getting more Tristan POV. Feels out of character for Tupoc to give a lecture outing himself as principled like that. He's normally the guy making sardonic comments and revealing smiles, not the shounen fanfic protagonist dropping an anvil on the designated punching bag.

2026-02-28 07:06:31 +0000 UTCCome on now, Cao! You should've known that Song wouldn't try some seemingly crazy shit like that, if she hadn't made preparations to ensure she could actually expect to pull it off. She's not stupid.

2026-02-28 05:58:42 +0000 UTCTuppc raises a great point They signed up to be members of the watch. The yearly test is basically an internship for the job they are in class studying for. How is skipping the internship (and it's associated opportunities for learning and making connections) a carrot to someone who actually wants the job?

2026-02-28 05:31:20 +0000 UTC1. The Unluckies are making big swings and burning some bridges, yes, but not ALL of them. As Tupoc has shown, the biggest factor in establishing a reputation isn't necessarily being beloved, but being consistent. If the Unluckies are able to maintain the story of "our allies are benefitted and our opponents are cut down," then their actions eventually stop being viewed as desperate or impulsive and start being viewed as a consistent but measured modus operandi. 2. Colonel Cao is living out a variation of "The Emperor Has No Clothes." The persona of neutral referee and guiding teacher is being stripped away, revealing a rank opportunist who grants the delvers the "honor" of doing ALL the work and risk in exchange for "brownie points", and who provides NO advantage or help to the delvers, compared to the garrison who actually help keep the operation running. For all their pretense and posturing, a Stripe is utterly worthless if they can't get anyone to listen to them.

2026-02-28 03:58:50 +0000 UTCAH, Tupoc has the same lunacy as Song, a true believer

2026-02-28 03:22:36 +0000 UTCTupoc had such a huge crush on Tristan. There's not a moment where he will not mention Tristan if he has the excuse.
