The first lines were kinda hard to render and to follow on that browny caramel paper! But it was worth the trouble, I'm very happy with how it turned out and the birthday guy is so happy too :-)

I begin to know better what I'm doing here with coloured pencils and coloured paper. Love this one, btw, allowing me to play nicely with the actual WHITE COLOR!It's always the sheet color and here it's a color really important.

I was about to stop at the shading. Watching this, I'm really glad I gave him some background, it gives the drawing a real surrounding and fits the army style guy, hehe!

The one thing important I discovered quickly when adding some colour pencil touches on traditional graphite drawing, is that you need to put it at the earliest stage, aka the sketch, otherwise it's gonna spread with the darker graphite lines!
