All in all, I think my shoot with Jordan River was more than successful. We continued to shoot other set-ups for another hour or so before she hit the road, but I'll share those at another time.

I finally had her throw on a body suit to take a few last shots, simply so we could have at least a few "safe" shots to share on more public social media platforms like Facebook or Instagram. Unfortunately, as a creative person these days, you have to think in the manner.
How do you feel about changing your artwork in this way...

The process was a bit different for her, as well, and the popping of the light behind her wasn't something she was necessarily used to. But she was a trooper and didn't complain, she just wanted to get better, and she did.

Not wanting to get stuck with the same light in every photo, I changed things up and inserted a strobe into the mix of hot lights. The process was the same, but the results were very different. I've almost got this process figured out, which bothers me because I like figuring it out new every time.

I've still been uncomfortable getting the top/bottom reflections to look good, taking the advice of my friend and talented photographer Susan Nason. I definitely think these were the most successful to date.

This was a raw shot that I loved, but it was far too blurry to do anything with. I include it here only to show that the process is not exact. I like this shot a lot, too. I love capturing a moment, which I suppose all photography is about, but especially when action is taking place. You can't stage or recreate an image like this 100%, and I love the fact that such moments are fleeting, like all the good times in life. Photography is meant to capture and preserve those...

This is another favorite from that day. Most, if not all, of these images are uncropped, with only the most minor of touch-ups. None of the lighting or effects is done in post production, they're all in-camera here. What do you think of this technique? What would you like to see done differently?

This is one of my favorites from the set-up. Not only is her pose and the reflection of herself intriguing elements, but the shine off her blue skin and the subtle pink of the reflection inside her arm. It's always the little things that catch my eye.

She had never seen anyone with the lighting set-up I had created, nor had she seen people use diffusers and reflectors in front of the lens before. She loved the effect more than I did, and I found amusement that something so simple could astonish her so greatly.
