I couldn't decide where to go from the sketch. I intended to combine all the layers like I've been doing a lot lately, but after a while I realized that I'd like to add a clean outline instead. The image above is where I stopped.

Starfire

I spent a bunch of time on the background, then made it almost non-existent.

I think most people remember the Teen Titans version of Starfire, but I wanted to go with the more current look. Of course since comics get rebooted all the time, this one is probably already out of date.

The next NSFW hybrid piece will be Starfire! The sketch incorporates the clothing, but also has some other details that could be considered NSFW. Of course the final clothed version will be available to all. :)

I like to avoid lineart when there's a lot of details involved, especially when it comes to mechanical stuff.  I think it helps give the final drawing a bit of a nice rough edge too.

I needed some inspiration so I dusted off the ol' ps3, moved an old mattress that was blocking my ps2 collection, popped in a copy of Gradius V and messed around with it for a bit.

And by that I mean I played all the way through the very end for over an hour. It's a good reminder that it is in fact, the greatest shmup ever mad...

Revised Ryuko

Hey all! I was never completely satisfied with my Ryuko drawing from last month and today I decided to go back and fix the problem. I lowered the contrast in the background and gave Ryuko warmer colors (reds & yellows) with a higher contrast in the blacks. A few tweaks over a half hour and I think the piece really shines now...

Summer Robin

Fire Emblem Heroes continues to be my multi-tasking app of choice. I'll usually just auto battle with one of my teams at the start of a Splatoon match or if I have a minute where I'm waiting on something.

At one point I was losing motivation with this piece. Then I zoomed in, added a twist, and threw back the right arm; suddenly it was one of my favorite pieces in a long time. It's amazing how much of a difference composition makes.
