Trip update 3: Krakow

We spent two days in Krakow and I wish it had been more, because the city is gorgeous.  The first two photos were shot in and around the rynek (town square) and the third is Wawel Castle.  There's a local legend about a dragon so of course I had to doodle it a bunch of times while we were there.

Went digging through some old files and found this painting that I made a few years ago.  It was like 95% finished and just needed a little touching up, which is why it never got published to begin with.

Trying to reverse engineer the style I used 3 years ago was an interesting challenge.

Trip update 2: Zakopane

Zakopane is a mountain village/tourist trap full of charm and souvenir shops.  We stopped here for about 2 hours on our way to Krakow, and by that I mean we turned a 1.5 hour trip from Rzeszow to Krakow into a 5 hour trip from Rzeszow to Zakopane to Krakow.  We had to drive an extremely reluctant minivan up a mountain ...

So I'm back in the US, not that you'd know it from my trip updates.  Our schedule didn't leave us nearly as much free time as last year's study abroad program, and that combined with other work complications meant little time and energy for much else.  I'll be barfing the rest of my trip updates onto this page over the...
