Fun fact, when I was drawing Vara I initially designed her with massive black wings. Unfortunately, I found that they blocked out too much of the background, looked bad with text on top, and just didn’t fit in the page. So I ended up dropping them.

This is an alternate ending fan artwork for one of my all time favorite films, Princess Mononoke. This came about because I couldn’t stop wondering what would happen if Lady Eboshi somehow took the divinity from the Forest Spirit. If she can kill a god, I feel like she’s earned a little godhood herself.
