Both characters, despite not being human, are figures who explore and grapple with human nature.
Ripley 8 is caught between being human and alien, while Call, as an android, is trying to figure out her own identity and protect humanity. Their interaction shows the complicated relationship between being human and not, with both of them, in their own way, bridging the gap between humans and aliens. I love them so so much
