I was surprised how well the small Encore could keep up with the larger one up to maximum volume, but battery life is really bad which is the main reason I will return the Encore again, apart from that definitely one of the best and most impressive partyboxes from JBL so far.

I was actually shocked how horrible these “Devialet drivers” performed. Although allegedly equipped with some tweeter the speaker suffers from heavy intermodulation and severe distortion issues already at low levels. And people are talking about “marketing fail” by Earfun. Now this is what I would call marketing fraud...

Anker fixed the overheating issues which plagued the Motion Boom Plus with some new model, at the same time they fixed the weird treble response with the latest firmware 0.36. Definitely a much better deal than a JBL Xtreme 3 for example, but still not usable for low levels due to disappearing bass etc.
