Here's the finished project! Originally planned on making the scene about a drowning knight, but I wanted to go more fairy-tale and eventually ended up with the final concept!  I can't really say what the full story is for it, so I'll leave it open ended.

Mermay WIP (Blue Mermaid)

I made a pink mermaid last year so this year I went blue! 

Still trying to decide if I should keep the outlines or not. Maybe only outline the body and not the hair? A hard decision. Trying my best to find the time to actually finish it.

Since it's May I figured I'd make something new for this year! Temporarily putting aside my Yuuri model for the month.

Though I can only make progress over the weekends, here's the concept art for one half of the characters. A cursed knight turned to stone and laid to rest at the bottom of the ocean.

Yuuri Wireframes and Texture Previews

Here's a closer look at the wireframes for Yuuri. She sits at 8,908 tris, which is a bit higher than I normally go for personal projects! Majority of the polycount is on her head and hair. 

She currently has 3 texture Maps;  face, body and extras (jacket and cap). At the moment she only has a "neutral" express...
