Here is how things can be handled with the idea of making a base animation and then deciding the characters...
Would you like to do it:
A- The Normal Way: I give you the full animation then you start suggesting pairings to draw over the base, easy, classic... consistent ships from the same univers...

Instead of adding them up and keep them scrambled, I decided to classify them by the show/game/comic/etc. the character(s) belong so they are easier to find, linking to the general folder and the new folder, or the folder where the new animation was added...

I animate a pose, then you suggest who should be on it depending on the number of people that is in the animation, we make a poll with the randomly selected number of suggestions like always, and then I go to work... Do you like the Idea?

Well... i think the current identifiable characteristic in my animations is the use of shaders and exchanging cel-shade with colored lines on the characters... and oh boy. it is time consuming... but I just love colored lines in my stuff
There are still things missing like the backgrounds and the thinking balloon ...
