Interesting choices made for the mix. I suggest that EQ so that you do not put in excessive hi end and low end. Mix again with the eq from scratch and the pointer. Good job on mixing someone elses work. Keep it up

How to write melodies the easy way

If you write your song in 1 key and you need to make a melody try using the pentatonic major or minor scale depending on what you wrote initially. You can step out of scale with your pentatonic notes but use this only as short stepping stones to get to your main notes. Give Julian Bradley a google and take notes :).

Louder masters

Here are some tips to go louder. And you can go as loud as you want :). I do suggest loudness penalty and having a listen to your different versions. Which ever one you like go for that. At the end of the days it's not what meters say but how it sounds. Think of the listener vs the lufs

Do I clip?

Yes all the time I just do not call it clipping. Distortion, saturation, driving, compressing, limiting, waves shaping, aka "abusing plugins" is an every day occurrence. I suggest the playlist of Anade mixing session with Plugin Alliance. It is full of clipping all over :). 

Can your Sub be dynamic?

If it's part of the creative idea yes. If certain notes sound louder in your listening position but it's actually a sine wave playing back at the same level than no.
