It's from the first test page i ever did for To Be Honest, back when the script was barely existing, only of incoherent scenes with no plot line. I drew one page to see how long it would take me and to see if I  was at all able put certain things I wanted to tell into imagery. ...

They're from early 2020 (I think), shortly after I finished the script for the story. Sometimes I have certain Images in my mind I don't want to forget, so I end up doing scene concepts long before I get to actually draw the full scene.

My first step in drawing pages is doing a very quick, very rough planning of the panels of the whole chapter. But often there's weeks between the thumbnail/sketch and the actual lineart/color phase, that's why I make my layout sketches very detailed, and usually it's already the final poses and angle.

Shortly before I began drawing the first pages, every character got a "final" reference sheet. You can kind of tell I still had no Idea how to consistently draw Leon's hair :'D but at some point I had to start drawing the actual comic so I just went with it.

A drawing from the early stages. You can see that I had no idea what to do with Leon's hair back then (I still don't????) Nothing has changed as many times as Leon's Hair during the concept art stage.

2019 vs 2020. Unlike most other characters, Ida and Gilbert existed as my OCs long before I actually wrote To Be Honest, and were not specifically created for the story. That's why there's basically no change in their design, only my style changed a little bit.
