changes of plans, here's the august update.

i was originally going to neglect drawing the update picture to focus on the drop-out page due in a couple of days, but realized i'm probably not going to be able to make a satisfying final product or get any sleep.

instead there's just going to be no drop-out update this...

august poll

character development streams would probably not focus on characters that have already gotten development streams before.

exaggeration/stylization streams would be making an effort to figure out how to draw things in a more vivid or cartoony style, be it stylizing other people's characters, my own, or just life drawings.

fun fact: when i pitched the idea of drop-out to myself as a comic, this was where it was supposed to end, to leave what happens to sugar up to the reader. after formalizing the story more, i was unhappy with that ending.

lola's question here references a dream sequence cut from the script during development.
the theme of dreams is still somewhat present in the story, but originally played a more prominent role. i decided to cut the sequences for the sake of brevity and subtlety.

this page was originally going to be 2. i decided to try to crunch 3 pages of work in a week to make up for the fact that page 106 and 107 will be cliffhanger pages.

this scene was originally very similar in events to the previous scene; sugar's meltdown was when lola asked her if she felt guilty.

this part of the scene originally had sugar talking more about "feeling god's presence" and things which were metaphors for feeling hope, which could generally be mistaken for psychosis.
this became the final version instead, because memory and forgetting have been prominent themes in drop-out so far.
