Of Bees and Dragons

After a couple of days of struggling with getting an older tablet to work on the old desktop that I've set up in the basement (which is about 20 degrees cooler than the rest of the house) I think I've managed to set up something that is at least workable.

I was hoping to use my old Yiynova tablet, as its a larger and at...

Meanwhile in the Canadian Robot Army..

I've received my second shot this afternoon which is an immense relief.  Its a weird feeling to suddenly have the last of that anxiety slowly bleed away after so long.  Given that our province is going to be throwing the doors wide open on Money Rodeo day.. Er.. Canada day, the more protection I can get, the better....

The Sky Came Down to Tear Off Their Hides.

stasisdelirium post The Sky Came Down to Tear Off Their Hides. from patreon

Welp, I guess I'll be working early morning for art for at least a week if not more.  In a place with no AC these temps are gonna be a nightmare for the studio.  The up-side is that it means I'm forced to go to bed at a decent hour.  The bad news is that I might be getting up at 4am now to get anything done :P<...

stasisdelirium post More etchings from the elder times. from patreon

The next batch of higher res uploads here from the 'dead link place' years back.  Realizing these were done 6 years ago is kind of insane.  There are still a few pieces left to post as well before month's end.

I apologize for being a bit slow.  Some family surgery stuff sprung up here recently.  Some...

Pony Petting on Lazy Days (NSFW)

stasisdelirium post Pony Petting on Lazy Days (NSFW) from patreon

This is one of those pictures I debated posting here, since I don't do many like this, but I couldn't help wanting to share the sheer *happy* that Cinders had on her face.

They've been together for many a year now, they've raised four kids, have a strong herd, and he still loves her with the raw adoration that he did wh...

Scribbles from a foregone age.

stasisdelirium post Scribbles from a foregone age. from patreon

As promised, I'm re-posting some of the art I did in the 2015/2016 era that were linked from a third party site, of which all of the links are now long dead.

I'll dole these out in small doses if I can help it.  Some of the art from that era I can't post again as it was work I did for other people, and some from pa...

Short stack of bla-bla-bla

A couple short notes.

I'll be sending out the note for the next Patron on the list for an illustration on the weekend.  I'm going to try and get these done within the month they're given out just to keep things straight in my head.

I'm also working on about four things at once.  I'm starting to do...

Do you care if there are 'game stats' in world-lore posts?

I realized that there was a poll function on this site (Yes, I'm fairly oblivious).  I also realized that I'm not sure if my having to go through and strip 'game stat' notes out of posts is really necessary.

I know a lot of folks here don't play ttrpgs, but who might not really care if things like that are provided...

Smatterings of natterings.

I've been thinking over the last couple of days of starting to add written posts here detailing things about the world that the characters live in, as well as some information on the characters themselves.

Part of my thinking here was due to my almost losing about 25-ish years of notes on the world.  Admittedly tha...

The Forgotten Sketch

stasisdelirium post The Forgotten Sketch from patreon

I forgot about this first sketch of Kai that I did, clearly trying to figure out her look.  I sadly don't have the work-file anymore because I might actually be clinically stupid, and didn't save it when shutting down Clip Studio.

But I had a high-res enough file to at least post here.  I still really haven't ...

I had an inkling to draw otters again.  Tried out drawing Kai from a pretty distant mental image of her.  I don't know much about her, other than she'd never steal someone's fish.

Tired - Inks

stasisdelirium post Tired - Inks from patreon

One of two inking projects I'm working on.  I wanted to do a colour treatment of the sketch of Berrand this time around, and did some basic inks so I can add some flats later on.  The trees in the background will have some leaves starting up, but I tend to paint those on rather than ink them all in, and he'll have h...

Adventure!

stasisdelirium post Adventure! from patreon

Now post-jab, my rather wild ride with hypertension for 14 months has evened off significantly.  That said, despite the 'busy' of daily life, I've been sketching some fairly random warm-ups in addition to doing some paid work, and slowly inking on an image that I'm going to be trying to get coloured for this month.

stasisdelirium post Skraables. from patreon

I've been doing some warm up sketches to get back into the swing of doing art a little more often.  The rule is as always:  leave things rough, don't go back and fuss over any of it.

I wanted to draw more modern-day characters this time around (Though poni is still poni).  I went a little more 'cartoon' t...

Tired.

stasisdelirium post Tired. from patreon

Since I did a picture of Cinders earlier this month, her husband Berrand needed a picture done as well.  Taking a break with the dragon-pipe after digging a cartload of mulch in preparation for the upcoming growing season.

When I sat and looked at this I was a bit amazed at how rough the figure drawing was compared...

Beware the Aldr Vharrow. (Patron illustration)

stasisdelirium post Beware the Aldr Vharrow. (Patron illustration) from patreon

I haven't had chance to draw a centaur in what feels like over a decade.  When I was given the subject of getting to draw a scene with a centaur character it reminded me just how much I used to enjoy drawing these people.

But it was a huge learning curve again.  Two creatures having to merge at the righ...

stasisdelirium post Dancing with Tiny Friends (final) from patreon

I've had this picture near completed on the drive for a couple weeks at least.  I still had to do some correcting and painting, but it was nearly complete before the health chaos spun into full swing.

Indoor scenes tend to scare the hell out of me when it comes to painting, since light can be from several focuses a...

Dotting 'T's and Crossing 'I's

Over the next couple of weeks I'm hoping to be able to get some of the still in stasis (no relation) art that I've had sitting around finished.

My father's health had gone from bad, to much worse, to now 'stable' for the most part.  I don't expect his health to ever hit 'good' again.  But it can at least be co...

Dancing with Tiny Friends (inks)

stasisdelirium post Dancing with Tiny Friends (inks) from patreon

I had to adjust a couple things.  I'd realized in the rough sketch that Lady Stripingly would actually be behind Cinders while dancing just from the perspective of the table.  Cinders was reaching forward so it looked a bit awkward that the pair would be hand-in-hand when I looked at it as a whole.

Patron Sketch and other work.

A short PSA.

A complication has come up with my father's health that has eaten up the last few.  The next foreseeable week or two might be pretty chaotic.  Its hard to tell just how chaotic until I speak with some specialists and get a game-plan.

I apologize for not getting the next patron sketch under w...

stasisdelirium post Dancing with Squeakies (working title) from patreon

A more detailed rough sketch this time around.  I changed around the table a bit, as well as Lady Stripingly to look a little less cartoony (but still has dance moves).  I think I'm happy enough with the character and background elements to ink this one and get it ready to paint at a later date.

To say it's been a busy week is a bit of an understatement.  However, despite there being three medical meetings to get my father to, one of them I was happy to have.
