Someone within the Simpsons organisation is paying attention to these things. Martin's father appears in one shot at the opera, annoyed at the noisy Simpson family up in a box (sidenote: The Simpsons can afford a box at the opera?), and he appears rarely after. But he appears to be relatively consistent nonetheless!
