I built an x299 system a couple months ago with an i7-7820X 8-core CPU and an MSI x299 Creation motherboard. Cooling this combo was a Scythe Fuma Rev. B. dual 120mm tower cooler. Spec-wise, it should be able to cool the 7820x without any problems... only it's not.
