Alright, I finally understand what shaders and textures are. The image up there is a very crude test object using a custom 2d texture and a toon shader addon. Would have been super cool but here's the current issue, the lighting adds additional tones which doesn't go well with the current master palette as can be seen here:

One of the locations for the alpha release. This will contain some npc's which are also involved in the early missions. Being an open world, towns and all the other zones can be revisited for quest triggers or plot updates.
