i consider an author has something interesting to tell when he makes his characters suffer for a reason and when this suffering stays.
For exemple, I hate it when a character is shown dying but reappears later unharmed (we see you, Pound and Kinemon !), or when a character is hurt be just get healed at the end of the fight...
