hythlodaeus wip

attended the sundering art party on one of the FFXIV test realms yesterday and my friend made a hythlodaeus alt for it ... !! Decided to draw him :)

if I ever made album cover art it would look like this

FINALLY.... AT LAST ....... This took longer than I expected. Six entire headshots + background details ......... jeez louize.

I've never drawn an anthro character before! it was surprisingly easy because I had a screenshot of this dragonborn in the BG3 character creation to study for reference.

Using him to practice some effects mostly! I like the other one a lot more, kinda had to rush through this one

experimenting with a new lighting and coloring process and I'm kind of impressed with how well it's working. Although, I've noticed it works a lot better when I get the background figured out as soon as the flats are down so I can plan everything out a bit more ahead of time

Took the weekend off to do a bit of writing instead but I played with this one here and there.

magical scars are COOL. His partner in crime is that elf I drew last week but unfortunately they're both nameless right now

I still prefer the cleaner look without the greyscale shading but I can work on that

I feel like I could maybe draw comics in this style, it's very fast and easy for me. But maybe I should see if there's a way to integrate color into a shading layer like this? Much to consider

Squeezing in at the end of the month! Was experimenting with a soft brush and I'm still not very confident with it so I've provided two versions (one with the lights and one without)
