Some insights :
As you can see, I usually keep sketches looser (rather then exacting). I do a very rough layout, followed by a tighter sketch. I find that if you fuss to much with the sketch, the final lines will suffer because you are trying to trace the sketch perfectly, as apposed to choosing your final strokes...
