Fun fact. When I starting watch this episode, I started ep 19 by accident. And after 10 seconds my brain was like, uhhhhh.... waitaminute. I feel like some things have been skipped! Yup. Indeed. I skipped a whole episode :p
Anyways. This episode was great! Some real fascinating characters.
Ooooookay. So we've bad back to back BANGER eps in a row! I think I spent a solid 5 minutes at the end trying to decipher everything. Sometimes 2+2 is not the easiest thing to figure out xD
The big thing I want to point out: I thought Jinshi was MUCH OLDER! I would've put money on him being in his late 20s/early 30s. ...
For the first 2/3rds of this episode, i was just as confused as last episode. More new characters? Huh? So lost. And then it all came together. Brilliant storytelling! The uncle? Trash. Absolute trash. I also thought the kid was a boy for most of the episode. Whoops! Sometimes it's hard to tell, okay?!

Nice little side story for Tenma! Gotta love the grumpy, but loved backwoods doctors. It seems like everywhere Tenma goes, he has an impact on someone's life. Guess that's the life of a doc on the run!

That might have been the most visceral reaction I've had to a scene in anime in.... many, many years. I flinched. I cringed. I turned away. I am a very desensitized person, things don't "get" to me very often. This episode did! And I applaud it for that. Holy moly.

And that concludes the latest in the Monogatari franchise! Hell of a great season! I talked about it at length at the end, but the huge break I took while I waited for the good subs really killed the momentum of the series for me, though. Huge bummer. Absolutely amazing season though!

This is why Monogatari needs to be marathoned! A two month break is brutal! I didn't have any idea what was going on for the first bit. But then the pieces started to come together. Holy cow though I felt so lost!
