Behind the scenes: Commodore 1701 Pro CRT repair

Hey everyone. Here are some pics from a repair I've finished. This is a beautiful 1983 Commodore CRT that belongs to my buddy Try @ My Life In Gaming. This CRT had some bezel damage from shipping. I'm really excited about how well this turned out. Video coming soon!

PVM 2530 - Repairs continue...

Today I spent more time working on the Sony PVM 2530. I rebuilt the neck board and it's working good. I still have the jitters until the screen has time to warm up. On to the next PCB.

2530 recap - still having some issues

Hey everyone. I have been working all day on this 2530. It has an issue where the horizontal size will randomly expand and contact about 1/2" or so in overall size.

I've installed a different neck board and recapped the entire deflection board. I also changed flyback to one I served. Tomorrow I'm going to look at...

PVM 2530 Dissection

I've been pulling vital parts off some 2530s to help piece together a couple of nice 2530s. I was removing the flyback today off a parts unit and wow this thing is odd. Sony had a weird design for this tube and flyback. There is a tiny spring installed in the anode ring!

The Perfect CRT Caulk

Hey everyone. I've found the perfect CRT caulk for applying to the CRT neck and along the deflection yoke. It's called RTV and it's what Sony used for BVMs back in the day. It's got a high heat tolerance and all around great.
