I went out on to this pier to get a look at the shipwreck in the daylight.  I spoke to a very friendly guy from the Coast Guard that said that there are thousands of cars still onboard the ship.  It may take a year for them to remove it.

Looking at these trees is so inspiring and thought provoking.  It was a very windy day, and full of movement.

An outfit for some filming and travels.

This is an update on my next week of travel and plans for filming.  I'm going to some fun and exciting places and I plan on filming quite a few new pieces.  So look forward to it in the upcoming weeks!

Practicing with watercolor today! Just a couple of days ago, I'd sketched a magnolia blossom. I thought I'd try a similar composition in color! Deep greens, warm yellows, and purple!

Little watercolor painting

I began painting a card today in watercolor! I had previously painted a composition similar to this one. I think that crows are clever and beautiful birds! I always enjoy painting them! Did you know that they can recognize human faces? Just one of the reasons I admire them!

Reflecting on December: Then & Now

I awoke this morning to one of the prettiest December mornings in my recollection. It was so warm! Overnight, a front from the South had settled in, I imagined a host of tropical images in the warmth of it. I was so inspired and awed by the beauty and stillness that I began to wish, in earnest, that I was a poet.

I made a card to match a painting that I did at one of my favorite spots.  This time lapse video shows how I made it.  

Out for a walk!

It's been cold! This morning was still a bit brisk, but not nearly as cold, so we went out for a walk. Inigo Montoya was happy to be out, and managed to find something stinky to roll in. Even so, I had a nice time and was able to clear my head and clarify some thoughts!

Poetry time!

I'm still having fun with filters, and wanted to share a poem.  I think this looks a bit like an 8mm film.  I've added scratches and flicker, surface dust and film jitter.  I hope that it adds to the enjoyment for you!

On the easel.

Perhaps it is the influence of the colors in nature, whatever the reason, I found myself mixing gold, teal, and blue. Organic shapes emerged as I took my brush to paper. Just allowing my mind and hand to flow freely today!

A beautiful day!

It was a lovely day outside, so I took advantage of it! A little bit of pleinair painting, a nice walk, and a new bit of work in the sketch book! I love days like this!

Cape video!

Here is a little bit of video that I shot while out taking some photos.  Hope you like my new cape! 

Not all heros. . .

I have heard that not all heroes wear capes, and while that is true.  Today I am wearing one.  I made this beautiful and dramatic cape for cool weather, and this season is perfect for it.  

I made a cape!

Maybe I'm not a hero, but I do feel elegant in my cape.  It's a bit dark and subtle.  I think that it would be appropriate for any dressy occasion.

Just a quick little sketch of a dandelion shedding its seeds. It's not an uncommon image, but every time I see it, I can't help but think of those moments in life where my mind has been opened in a new way. Like a strong breeze through the mind, scattering my thoughts in all directions to plant new seeds!

I was playing around with this beautiful plane and then went down by the creek in my custom coveralls today.  It was a lovely day!

I wore my custom coveralls to the airport and do a preflight check on this old Air Corps plane.  The textures of this classic vehicle are very inspiring.

Ink sketch in two colors! The blue is a color called Quasar by Colorverse. The black is called Noodler's Black by Noodler's Ink. I've been enjoying working with fountain pens and the variety of inks available!
