Light Beam AP File

This file includes both methods. I did however adjust it a little bit more after the Tutorial and also used a "Blend Ranges" setting to have a bit less Impact on the dark areas of the Underlying layer in the first methods first adjustment :)

Light Beams - NEW Method

Here are two new* Methods to add Light Beams to photos. One uses the Brightness and Contrast Adjustment. The other one uses Curves and HSL to create a softer, more color adjusted result. With a Curve as a Mask Layer, all this is non-destructive and creates realistic Light Beams with ease.
