I was always a fan of Mike Saffels Flower Soup series so when Suzanne Elliott invited me along to one of her Flower Bath shoots with model and dancer Linda Huynh I jumped at the chance.
When local cultural publication Viet Magazine did a feature on Linda they used two of my images from the shoot, one on the cover.

After many revisits on details and colour treatment I think I got this image close to what I wanted. Now I think I might crop it to portrait as I think having a hint at the boat in the background works better than the full landscape version.

Just got home from a rather cold shoot at Outer Harbor (over an hour away) with Zumbo Blackheart and my assistant Leighlan Doe for this Halloween shoot based on the Kotobukiya Michael Myers figurine due out next year.
Yaya was so impressed by my dedication to getting the shot that she wanted to get a photo of my lying on the ground on all the hard pebbles.

This shot was taken at the 2015 Steampunk Festival in the same railcar I used this year. I just recently found this behind the scenes shot which looks like it lines up perfectly with the image above. You can see the difference in gear to, a single speedlite in a softbox and a reflector.

Because I wanted to move around the gardens with relative easy I used a fairly light setup which I'm liking more and more, the Jinbei Mars 3 just on a hand held monopole, the battery pack is on a shoulder strap so light is very flexible and easy to move (if you have a willing lightstand, thank you Trent!)
