This one had spotlight lightning in it, which I'm not accostumed to, so I did something that I knew at first, but then it occurred to me, so most of it had to be redone. Good to know that this type of lightning is relatively straightforward, used in various classical paintings, so I had good reference.

This one was fairly quick. I've tried a progress of just lay the forms, colors and light to quickly get to the overpaint part that I like very much. Yeah, it's fun! Nothing else new I believe. Foreshortening is hard, as always.

This one was hard. I wanted to try a new approach, using greyscale to determine the values and forms, then add colors and adjust as I go, so most of the work is render, render, render. Getting to the overpaint is the meat of the process. and it's much easier to plan the piece in grey.

Doing the character leaning towards the camera can be tricky. You can use the cilinders to help with perspective at the drawing phase, but still it's hard to remember at the painting stage. But you gotta geet the motif on. Helps to have the sketch handy so you remind yourself of what you're going for.
