A few announcements to make. First, the stitches in my hand come out today and it looks like the surgery to fix my fingers and thumb was successful. Another plus for health insurance. It's still difficult to write for long periods without a break, so I'm trying to take it easy for a few more weeks. But I have managed to write up...

Thank you all for your patience. It has been a difficult 24 hours. Leilani's hand surgery became the least of our worries late last night when Mystery, our beloved 14 year old cat, took a bad turn, and after meeting with doctors at the hospital, we had to make the most difficult choice imaginable.
